Arc Side Table

The PH 4/3 Table Lamp is a member of the three-shade family that Poul Henningsen designed in 1925/1926 and is one of 19 versions available today. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. Approximately one thousand different models have been produced over the years and consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as a number of different chandeliers, which were very popular in the 30s for lighting private homes with high ceilings. Henningsen was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and use the logarithmic spiral as a basis, which results in an even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade.

Poul Henningsen's work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source.

Lean is a departure from the traditional picture frame mirror. It is full-length, floating off the floor and resting gracefully against the wall at a 5 degree angle, reflecting an image head to toe at a close distance. At the same time, the noticeable separation from the wall gives the Lean grace and presence.

The Lean is simple in form, yet its appeal is in the details. The mirrored surface contrasts with the thick wood panel it is affixed to. The lip at the base of the frame that holds the mirror in place is the same depth as the glass, making for a sleek, seamless unified surface.

Lean is available as a wide and narrow mirror in a variety of wood veneers.

The Lean sits on inset rubber feet that protect the frame from the floor. Each mirror includes a wall mount safety bracket, which securely holds the mirror to the wall.

Consistent with all of her work, the end table has a spare, geometric presence that reflects the design approach Florence Knoll learned from Mies van der Rohe. The Wabi Sabi Rectangular Tray, part of Ethnicraft's Wabi Sabi collection, takes its motivation from the beauty that designer Dawn Sweitzer finds in the everyday patterns she comes across during her favorite activities: travel and exploring nature. When Dawn was traveling in the blue ridge mountains and gazed at the sky before and after sunset, she noticed that the hues of the horizon looked like a watercolor picture. The sandy brown and muted blue and green color palette of this tray is drawn from that dazzling view. Every tray by Ethnicraft is hand-crafted and there may be variations in color and pattern.
