The CH71 Lounge Chair for Carl Hansen & Søn was created in 1952 by the masterful Danish designer, Hans J. Wegner. As well as being a highly skilled cabinetmaker, Wegner was an expert in upholstery techniques, allowing him to create complex pieces such as the CH71. Crafted to be both elegantly compact and supremely comfortable, the CH71 has a slender, angular frame with flowing, sculptural curves. The design showcases a seamless unity of form and function, and an effortless quality that is timeless. Wegner also put great thought into the chair’s proportions, resulting in a streamlined piece that can add style and softness to even the smallest of rooms. The chair can be upholstered in a variety of textiles, while the legs and handles are available in oak and walnut with various finishes.

The Vintage Waffle Towel is the perfect example of design blending seamlessly with craftsmanship. The highly absorbent, fast-drying threads of cotton linen delicately woven into small plaits maximizes utility, whilst adding a touch of regal sophistication.

Since 1934, Kontex has been crafting high-quality towels in Imabari, Japan. The secret to Kontex' softness is in the manufacturing process. Each towel is made from fine, garment quality thread that's loosely twisted for the highest level of softness. Such threads would break on modern weaving machines, thus Kontex towels are gently woven on traditional, low-speed machines to maintain the integrity of the thread and achieve a level of softness that modern machines cannot produce. The Neo collection fuses innovative methods of furniture construction with design simplicity, resulting in an enduring sofa with timeless appeal. The Neo's durability and comfort come from its construction techniques that use exact tolerances. Each sofa is handmade by one of our craftsmen at our factory using premium materials that are carefully sourced from around the world.

The Neo frame is constructed with a durable steel-reinforced laminated wood frame and has a steel spring suspension system adapted from the automative industry, which provides maximum support and comfort while occupying minimal space. The imported European seat and back cushion have been carefully selected for durability, firmness and comfort. Seat cushions are made of CFC-free polyurethane, softened by a continuous Dacron® wrap. Back cushions are baffled for even distribution and to prevent shifting of feathers and batting, thereby providing better lumbar support.

Covers come in a wide selection of specially sourced fabrics and leathers. The fabric covers are removable for cleaning or replacement. The leather covers are upholstered on.

Series 11 Nightstand

Nightstands

Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system used in the PH lighting series during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. The 3½/3 pendant is a member of the three-shade family and is one of 19 versions available today. Approximately one thousand different models have been produced over the years and consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as a number of different chandeliers, which were very popular in the 30s for lighting private homes with high ceilings. Henningsen was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and use the logarithmic spiral as a basis, which results in an even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade.

Poul Henningsen's work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source.
