Eero Saarinen designed the groundbreaking Womb Chair at Florence Knoll's request for "a chair that was like a basket full of pillows... something I could really curl up in."  The Womb Chair and Ottoman (1946) has an enveloping form that continues to be one of the most iconic and recognized representations of mid-century organic modernism. By applying foam molded over a fiberglass shell, Saarinen created a single-piece form that perfectly facilitates a relaxed sitting posture. The much loved design is now available in a 62" settee for two.

Presented are the standard fabric upholstery options. The chair can be upholstered in a wide variety of colors and fabrics, including KnollTextiles fabrics and a range of Spinneybeck® leathers.

Eero Saarinen vowed to address the “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” he observed underneath chairs and tables -- the so-called "slum of legs." A five-year design investigation led him to the revolutionary Pedestal Collection, introduced in 1958, which was inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. His now-iconic Pedestal table features a cast-aluminum base with abrasion-resistant Rilsan® finish and a solid Vetro Bianco stone or Natural Slate top.

All-weather hardware and outdoor-appropriate materials ready the classic Saarinen table for a life outside, delivering an elegant focal point to any outdoor setting. Each piece is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Eero Saarinen’s signature.

Pendant Lights

Chairs take the most stress on their back legs, where they bear the weight of the user's upper body. The engineer, architect and designer Jean Prouvé incorporated this simple insight in his design for the Standard Chair: while steel tubing suffices for the front legs, since they are subject to less stress, the back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections that transfer the primary weight to the floor.

Standard SP (Siège en Plastique) brings the iconic chair up-to-date without changing anything about its form: A seat and backrest of robust plastic in a carefully chosen colour palette gives Standard SP a contemporary look. To match the plastic surface, the bases feature a resistant, matt powder coating.

Hard carpet glides are included, thought felt glides for hardwood floors are available. Seat and backrest are made of ASA fine textured plastic with the base in pressed sheet steel and tubular steel in a variety of powder-coated color options. The Standard chair is also available in the classic version with the seat and backrest in wood, though quick ship options are not available for this version. Please contact us for details.

Sherpa Weave Rug

The authentic form of the Eames Stool is the result of a process that gives wood veneer the extra flexibility it needs to be molded into the complex curves of a single-form wood shell. The result brings a touch of style to any setting.

The seat and back are formed of a single 0.26"-thick molded piece of wood. Veneers are available in white ash, walnut, ebony and santos palisander finishes. This chair is available in two sizes, counter height and bar height. The base is available in white, black and trivalent chrome finishes.

The Sleeper is a contemporary sofa that easily converts into a single bed.

Conventional sofa-beds involve complex, heavy systems of springs and levers that require several motions or placements. The result is inadequate spring suspension and poor cushioning that compromises comfort in sleeping or sitting. What differentiates the Sleeper from other sofa-beds is that the fully supported foam seat and back changes position in one smooth motion.

Visually, the Sleeper has uncompromised clean lines, balanced proportions, tailored details and a low profile that fits in any environment. The unique mechanical hardware is buried with only a hint to its presence, leaving the aesthetic appearance uncompromised.
