The hammered texture of this ice bucket may be breathtaking, but it's the material and engineering behind it that sends shivers down my spine. The bucket is made of titanium, which is known for its capacity to retain a consistent temperature and for resisting corrosion. Featuring a double lined wall, this bucket will keep ice nice and cold for making drinks on a hot summer day. The artisans at SUS developed a technique to shape and finish titanium, producing an elegant texture that looks so cool on the counter.

This is such a great figurine as are all the characters Yuki Nishio creates. Their playful compositions remind me of the cats in Japanese literature like the books by Haruki Murakami. The square wall hanging clock by RetRe highlights beautiful qualities of the recycled spalted wood it’s made from. Considered damaged to some, designer Yamazaki Yoshiki has transformed Japanese oak that’s been naturally weathered, discoloured and insect-bored, into everyday useful objects. The grooved channels, small holes and winding dark striations vary to create a truly one-of-a-kind timepiece.

I am a Swan Paperweight. I may have started out as an ugly duckling, but I am more than capable of punching my weight. Those other birds only look good on paper.

We may not need to use paper as much in our digital age, but we think this beautiful paperweight has a place to nest on a desk or bookshelf. Inspired by the weights used to hold paper down for calligraphy, the paperweight is made from cast iron in the Iwate region renowned for its iron industry. Its elegant curves are moulded and cast using traditional techniques that highlight the natural textures of the cast iron.
