The Promenade by GTV is an upholstered collection available in one, two-seat, or three-seat sofa versions.  The project is expressed in a highly distinctive and decorative language that takes its inspiration from the minimalism and attention to detail of the Viennese secession, an artistic movement of the last century.
Starting from the craftsmanship of wood into a transverse square section, rather than round (originally used in 1906 for the “Postsparkasse” series), Philippe Nigro’s project has an exposed structure with profiles in Canaletto walnut supporting large, comfortable seating pads and complemented with soft goose-feather or polyester cushions for maximum comfort. The framework is completed by textile-covered panels, which give the sofa a unique value, especially if placed in the center of the room. The optional woven cane inserts along the top of the backrest is an extra detail that accentuates the sides and the back of the sofa.
This new concept of softness is also suitable for domestic spaces, which substitutes the austerity factor and introduces a number of relaxing and reassuring solutions for your living room, reflecting  GTV’s aesthetic style elements.

Eero Saarinen developed the Tulip Armchair as part of the pedestal series in the 1950s. The Saarinen Tulip Chair, the corresponding pedestal table, and other furniture he developed represent the peak of Eero Saarinen's career in which these lasting icons of modern classic furniture were brought to the forefront.
The Tulip Chair from his Pedestal Group collection is a reflection of Saarinen's ability to create timeless classics. He developed the Tulip series as part of his designs for "organic furniture" with which he aimed to restore formal order to the interior setting. Ever since his time working with Charles Eames, he found a fascination creating "organic furniture," that is furniture in a single form made from a single material. Saarinen's drive was to rid interior space from the "sea of legs" that he thought created visual clutter.
Early versions of the Tulip Chair were upholstered in wool, though cotton fabrics and leather are quite popular upholstery options today.

Pierre Chareau designed this table lamp in 1928 in France.  This style of shade became a common theme in other lighting elements created by this famous modern classic designer.  The design is recognized as a revolutionary achievement for the time.
As early as 1900 Chareau began his artistic career as a student of the famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he focused on architecture and design. By the 1920's he was already known in the design world for his complex structures and innovative use of architectural space. Pierre Chareau began to explore an interest in Cubist space by the mid-1920s and soon after his designs became highly sculptural. He is known for his use of combining materials such as lightly hammered steel, unpolished metals, and rich mahogany.

Florence Knoll Coffee Table

The Mies van der Rohe Flat Bar Brno MR50 was originally designed as dining chairs for the Villa Tugendhat House. Mies constructed the chair with chromium-plated steel tubes and thick horsehair that were upholstered with white calfskin. Joseph Muller and the Bamberg Metallwerkstatten, Berlin were contracted to produce the original chair.
The design of the Flat Bar Brno was based on the earlier MR series that Mies had produced. The pitch of the back of the MR series was not suitable as a dining chair, thus the Brno Chairs were developed in 1929.
Both a tubular and flat steel version were developed by Mies for the Tugendhat House.  The tubular version was used as a dining chair, while the flat bar version was used as part of the bedroom furniture.
The Mies van der Rohe's Flat Bar Brno has gone on to be one of the most successful dining, visitor, and conference chairs.  Its cantilever frame provides a great amount of comfort and some spring.  Its timeless design makes it a wonderful addition to nearly any indoor environment.

This Josef Hoffmann Table Lamp was designed in Austria in 1920.  It features a brass base and white Murano glass shade.
Josef Hoffman was born in Pirnitz, Moravia (now the Czech Republic) in 1870. He studied under Otto Wagner at the Institute of Fine Arts in Vienna and later went on to become one of the founding members of the School of Secession in 1897. The strict grid pattern that formed the basis for his designs, as well as being a favored decorative motif, earned him the nickname “Quadrull H Hoffman” or Little Square Hoffman. His work for the Weiner Werkstatte was a pivotal element in the development of a European tradition of decorative modern design, to which the Parisian Art Deco of the 1920s provided a continuation of this standard.

The Le Corbusier Chaise Lounge (LC4) is the best known and most successful of the Le Corbusier designs that were first exhibited at the Salon D' Automne in 1929. The Le Corbusier Chaise Lounge or "Longue" (LC4) was designed in 1928 for the furnishing of a villa in the Ville d' Avray and utilizes exposed structural elements with a padded leather cushion and headrest.
The LC4 Chaise Lounge has an infinite number of seating positions as the top frame is not attached to the base.  Therefore a comfortable seating position for reading may be attained, or lower the chaise for a nap the way Le Corbusier enjoyed.

Tiffany Chair By Casprini

Le Corbusier’s LC 1 Basculant Chair was designed in 1928 with the assistance of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret.  With inspiration from an English Officer's Chair, the LC1 was a chair that broke with past elements such as padding or excessive fabric.  Instead Le Corbusier’s modernist approach chose to show all aspects of the frame, arms, seat, and back.
The back on the LC1 tilts on a steel rod that runs through its back providing support to the user regardless of the sitting position.  Cords running under that seat hold the seat firmly in place, but also provide elastic comfort.
This LC1 Basculant is handcrafted by craftsmen in Tuscany, Italy.  Each component is carefully made to an exacting specification ensuring that you are receiving an accurate reproduction that you will be able to enjoy for years.

Le Corbusier Basculant Sling Chair (lc1) - Pony

Marcel Breuer designed the Laccio Table while he was experimenting at the Bauhaus laboratories with various objects, including different stools. The smallest of the Laccio tables was actually used as a seat for refectory tables. The Marcel Breuer Laccio Table series would later appear in photographs of Walter Gropius' house in Dessau. Marcel Breuer would market and produce the Laccio Table design, in various sizes and dimensions, while employed by Standard-Mobel.
Marcel Breuer was highly influenced by the de Stijl movement of the 1910s and 1920s.  Such landmark pieces as Gerrit Rietveld’s Red and Blue Chair (1917), and his Highback Chair (1919), would have a substantial influence on Breuer’s personal influence as a designer.  The flat planar design of these chairs was a break with the Romanticism style seen in earlier forms of wood chairs.  This modernist style would carry forward to designs such as the Laccio nesting table

The Le Corbusier LC7 Armchair was originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1927.  It was not until 1929 that the LC7 was integrated into the Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand collection for the Salon D' Automne in Paris.
Le Corbusier once said that “chairs are architecture, sofas are bourgeois”.  Most of the furniture pieces that continue to be popular for Le Corbusier’s portfolio were designed in the late 1920s and early 1930s.  It was with the collaboration of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret that such pieces as the LC1, LC2, LC3, and LC4 were designed.  These pieces were exhibited at the 1929 Salon d’Automne.

The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Candida Cottage Chair was part of the series believed to have been designed for the country home of the industrialist W. Basset Lowke. The client proved to be difficult and the design of the table with accompanying chairs was not accepted. Roger Billcliffe, the author of the definitive catalog of Mackintosh's work, feels that judging from the careful detailing of the executive drawings, Mackintosh considered this series as particularly important. Although Mackintosh's architectural output was fairly small he had a considerable influence on European design. Especially popular in Austria and Germany, Mackintosh's work was highly acclaimed when it was shown at the Vienna Secession Exhibition in 1900. It was also exhibited in Budapest, Munich, Dresden, Venice, and Moscow.
The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Candida Cottage Chair is a black stain ashwood chair with mother of pearl inlay. The seat is of woven straw.

Marcel Breuer designed the Laccio Table while he was experimenting at the Bauhaus laboratories with various objects, including different stools. The smallest of the Laccio tables was actually used as a seat for refectory tables. The Marcel Breuer Laccio Table series would later appear in photographs of Walter Gropius' house in Dessau. Marcel Breuer would market and produce the Laccio table design, in various sizes and dimensions, while employed by Standard-Mobel.
When Marcel Breuer started experimenting with the tubular steel chair in 1925, he was just 23 years old.  This made him a generation younger than modernist pioneers like Gropius, Le Corbusier, and Mies van der Rohe.  At this early age, Breuer became the Master of the Bauhaus-Dessau furniture shop as he was instantly recognized by Gropius for his talent.

Marcel Breuer Large Laccio Table

Marcel Breuer's Wassily Chair (1925) is one of the most famous products of the Bauhaus School. It is a club armchair with all the stuffing taken out, leaving behind a skeletal framework and stretched seat, back, and arms.
Marcel Breuer is considered one of the fathers of Modernism. During his career, he was an architect, teacher, and furniture designer. Breuer is famous for a number of furniture designs, though perhaps no chair design is more famous than his Wassily Chair. Marcel Breuer designed the No. B3 chair, commonly known as the Wassily Chair, in 1925 for Wassily Kandinsky's residence at the Dessau Bauhaus. Eventually, the chair took the name "Wassily" from its intended recipient. The Wassily Chair was later produced in collaboration with Karl Koerner, who was the head smith at the Junkerswerken in Dessau. Over the next four years, the chair went through a transformation while Marcel Breuer was employed by Standard-Mobel. The Wassily Chair was again redesigned for Thonet, after his resignation from Standard-Mobel, and would remain the permanent design for Marcel Breuer's revolutionary chair.
