This item furnishes the hall, but can at the same time fit easily into different areas of the house.

Pierre Chareau was born in Bordeaux in 1883. As early as 1900 he began his artistic career as a student of the famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he focused on architecture and design. By the 1920's he was already known in the design world for his complex structures and innovative use of architectural space. Chareau began to explore an interest in Cubist space by the mid-1920s and soon after his designs became highly sculptural. He is known for his use of combining materials such as lightly hammered steel, unpolished metals, and rich mahogany.
This table was used in the decor of the Maison de Verre along with Chareau's chair and sofa. It was in the waiting room of Dr. Dulsace's office.

In 1861 Michael Thonet found the perfect location to build a new mass production bentwood chair factory.  Eastern Moravia (Czech Republic) provided the optimal conditions of large beechwood forests, inexpensive labor, and a railway to transport bentwood furniture inexpensively throughout Europe.  Only one of these early factories is still in existence, Ton a.s.

The Caprice Wire Chair was designed by the Italian designer Marcello Ziliani in 2007.  Caprice was born from the image of a tape that moves freely in space, creating a kind of "three-dimensional lace" where the gaps are significant. The peculiarity and uniqueness of this perforated body required sophisticated research prior to the implementation of manufacturing.

The Michael Thonet No. 60 Bentwood Stool can trace its origins back to the mid-1800s.  This reproduction of the bentwood stool uses the traditional styles that one commonly associates with the designs of Michael Thonet.
Though the invention of the bentwood technique should be attributed to the American Samuel Gragg, it was Michael Thonet that experimented with the technique to an extreme level and made the bentwood chair one of the great commercial successes of all time.  An infatuation with reducing the number of pieces used in the construction of furniture, Michael Thonet created techniques of bending wood on multiple planes.  The techniques led to the development of phenomenal chair successes such as the legendary No. 14 and No. 18. bentwood chairs.
In 1861 Michael Thonet found the perfect location to build a new mass-production bentwood factory.  Eastern Moravia (Czech Republic) provided the optimal conditions of large beechwood forests, inexpensive labor, and a railway to transport bentwood furniture inexpensively throughout Europe.  This company's continual operation links the tradition of bentwood chairs to the modern world of interior design.

The Cover Stool was developed by Studio Tecnico Midj in 2011 based upon input from various clients around the world.  The Cover Stool uses a 4 leg base seen in other Midj stools but adds an attractive contemporary seat with a channel stitch.  This style has become widely popular for Midj and other Italian manufacturers in recent years, though it was first seen back in the 1960s on upholstered items.

Marcel Breuer designed The Cesca Chair in 1928 with the interest of comfort in mind. Like his progressive Wassily Chair (1925), the Cesca Chair is constructed with tubular steel. He chose to use one continuous steel tube in a cantilever style, a style that many designers at the time were using, including Mart Stam and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. With comfort in mind, he rounded the front edge of the seat so as not to cut into the sitter's legs. Breuer's version with a beech wood seat and back was nevertheless a good solution to the structural stiffness of a cantilever frame.
The chair was named "Cesca" as a tribute to his daughter Francesca. The Cesca was never patented, notes a 1991 New York Times article. "While Breuer signed a contract with Knoll Group, his design has always been in the public domain," said the group's vice president of design at the time.
Marcel Breuer introduced his first cantilever chair in 1928. These initial cantilever chairs were similar to chairs introduced to Mart Stam a year earlier. The development of the Cesca chair (B32) was different. By using wood in the seat and the back, less tubular steel would have to be used. This early combination of wood and steel was unique. Caning the seat and the back would make reference to earlier Michael Thonet bentwood chairs that were still quite popular in the 1920s. The use of modern materials added an aesthetically pleasing accent to the chair.

The Mies van der Rohe Tubular Brno MR50 was originally designed as dining chairs for the Villa Tugendhat House. Mies constructed the chair with chromium-plated steel tubes and thick horsehair that were upholstered with white calfskin. Joseph Muller and the Bamberg Metallwerkstatten, Berlin were contracted to produce the original chair.
The design of the Tubular Steel Brno was based on the earlier MR series that Mies had produced. The pitch of the back of the MR series was not suitable as a dining chair, thus the Brno Chairs were developed in 1929.
Both a tubular and flat steel version was developed by Mies for the Tugendhat House.  The tubular version was used as a dining chair, while the flat bar version was used as part of the bedroom furniture.
The Mies van der Rohe's Tubular Brno has gone on to be one of the most successful dining, visitor, and conference chairs.  Its cantilever frame provides a great amount of comfort and some spring.  Its timeless design makes it a wonderful addition to nearly any indoor environment.

The Eileen Gray Table was designed for Eileen Gray's famous E. 1027 house in Cap Martin, which highlights the rational designs for which Gray later gained notoriety. Originally the Eileen Gray Table was designed to enable one of Gray's sisters to indulge in her love of eating in bed, the Eileen Gray design complements any space as a side/end table, bedside table or reception area table. This Eileen Gray Table is adjustable and finished in brilliant triple chrome.
Eileen Gray was fairly neglected for most of her career but is now regarded as one of the most influential 20th-century designers and architects. Famous for classics such as the Bibendum Chair, which typifies Gray's opulent take on the stark modernist aesthetic, she now has earned the recognition she so deserved. Eileen Gray will be remembered for her unique ability to design furniture using a wide variety of materials. Her use of wood, steel glass and lacquer to create geometrically abstract objects was magnificent. Though much of her ability was unnoticed during her lifetime, many of Eileen Gray's works are available as reproductions.
This Eileen Gray adjustable table is made by master craftsmen in Italy using the utmost amount of care in the bending, chroming, and polishing of this table. Donald Knorr's 132U Chair was awarded first place by the Museum of Modern Art in the "International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design" in New York 1948. It was designed with the encouragement of his mentor, Eero Saarinen.  The shell of the prototype presented at the competition was made with a heat bent plastic sheet.
After the competition, Knoll Associates started manufacturing Knorr's chair in 1950, after introducing some changes to the original design, due to both technical and formal reasons. In order to reinforce the fastening of the sheet, the dimension of the stiffening rib was reduced and the legs were modified. The shape of the sheet itself was improved. The 132U Knorr Chair was then manufactured by Treitel Gratz, New York, between 1950 and 1952.

Michael Thonet's A14 is a great classic. This bentwood chair is absolutely the most famous, most sold and most copied in the history of furniture. Designed by Michael Thonet in 1860, the No. 14 chair immediately became known as the bistro chair. Minimalist both in the chosen material and the fact that just six elements go into forming the entire item, the No. 14 bentwood chair is the result of almost twenty years of research. Simple, versatile and ever contemporary, it is considered the first true example of industrial design.  The structure is formed from carefully steam bent solid beechwood.  The backrest and back legs are formed out of a single piece of beechwood.  Various seats are available including veneer, perforated veneer, cane and upholstered.
