Claire Price was born in New Zealand, studied Fine Arts at Canterbury University and began working as a photographer from the age of 18. Parallel to that, Claire continued to paint and began writing songs and performing. She signed her first record deal in 1998 and in 2000 moved to Paris to pursue music. Claire lived in Paris for 15 years, put out several EPs of music, exposed and sold her paintings in cafés and galleries and continued to work as a photographer specializing in fashion and portraits. In 2015 Claire moved to the US where she continues to paint and work as a photographer.

Julia Rivera is a talented and well-educated painter who has pleased many art collectors with her daring use of color, the internal rhythms of her compositions, and above all, her playful and refreshing imagery.
In her painting, Rivera, who was born in the Bronx in 1965, and who studied art in Florence, New York, and the School of Plastics Arts of Puerto Rico, creates an attractive, fairy tale universe where carefully chosen objects – clocks, fruit, little toy cars, bottles and elongated chairs – are arranged in order to let us see their essence in a surreal but celebratory manner.
Mallarme pointed out that a good poem has to be enigmatic. I believe that good works also have to possess magic and mystery. A good work of art does not let us know everything. Influenced by Gorky, Miro, Chagall and Matta, and quite aware of what has happened in the field of ‘lite’ neo-figuration during the last three decades, Rivera combines humor and poetry to conceive well balanced scenarios where the mundane and metaphysical establish dialogue about time and the human condition.

ABOUT RENÉE REY
Renée Rey is an award-winning painter living in New York City and southwest Florida.
Her other-worldly spaces flirt with romantic ideals of historical legend and utopian future. Rey draws upon the current social and political climate as fluidly as she borrows imagery from science, culture, and wisdom literature suggesting complex narrative threads. Washes of vivid color create a sense of weightlessness and defiance of gravity.
Rey was born in Japan into a dual diaspora heritage: Jewish/American optometrist father, and French/Armenian/Christian fashion designer mother, and refugee grandparents. Rey came of age in the environmental and civil rights zeitgeist of the 1960's and 70’s in upstate New York. An interior architectural design career informs color, material, and spatial choices. Mesmerized by Lucien Freud’s tactile juicy oil paintings of larger than life nudes, Rey embraces his uncensored fragility, enigmatic rawness, and freedom to push paint in a new direction.

Is it the case that when we least expect it, when we are overwhelmed by our circumstances and when despair begins to take us over, something or someone ends up helping us? If the answer is yes, then we can call that help Providence, Luck or Destiny.
Giovanni Pulze’s positive response to this is simply the representation of an ‘Angel’. Not an angel in the traditional religious sense of the term, and not a pictorial transposition for the modern cinematic kind of angels depicted by Wim Wenders. This ‘Angel’ can be any person, someone met in the street, someone met by chance or by mistake, someone who could perhaps change your day with their smile, or change your life with a gesture. The white wings therefore become a metaphor, a symbol for potential, this ‘something’ that we all have and that can be harnessed, right here right now, to offer help within this Daily Paradise we exist in.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Giovanni Pulze, was born in Italy at Piove di Sacco in the province of Padua on 1960, now resident in Badoere in the province of Treviso. First solo exhibitions in 1981. From a casual encounter with the “Maestro” Orlando Fasano at the time retired in the country side of Venice in Mogliano Veneto after having spent many years in Paris and meeting and working with many famous painters like of Picasso, Mirò, Cocteau and Prevert, a great friendship develops and G.P. discovers more of the modern art. From 1991 he started to develop works of modern art, with a side line of designing a line of sport wear labeled ‘Jeans Latino’ additionally a very well received line of fashion eyewear, designing for Safilo, Marcolin, Celes, Filos Piave, Valberra. Pulzeʼs creations were part of collection for Versace, Valentino, Roccobarocco.
A well-received collection was the one inspired by ten great masters of modern art, from Modigliani to Picasso, Dalì to Fontana and Warhol. Pulze worked with ceramics, creating collections of Totems/Towers and others objects. In the late 1990 his glance to the fantastic takes Giovanni to study the work of the English painter Turner and of the German painter C.D. Friedrich from where heʼll learn the sense of ‘Emptiness’ and the ‘Loneliness of the Humanity’. From 1999 the dominate theme of his paintings is the presence of the ‘Metropolitan Angel’.

ABOUT ZAHRA NAZARI
Zahra Nazari was born in Hamedan, Iran to a family of architectural enthusiasts. Throughout her entire life, she has pursued a career as a visual artist on the foundation of this inspiration from her youth. Her large-scale abstracted architectural paintings are formed by ideas about identity, immigration issues, and how globalization is changing our perceptions. Ms. Nazari has given talks and participated as a panelist at institutions such as NYU, Columbia University, and Pratt Institute in New York City. She has been interviewed by and published in Hamptons Art Hub, ZH Magazine, Hyperallergic, and many more. Her work is included in private and public collections throughout the US, Canada and Asia. She has been a recipient of The AIM Fellowship from the Bronx Museum, The Mentoring Program from New York Foundation for the Arts; a Visiting Artist Fellowship from Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City and Vermont Studio Center. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally in galleries and museums such as Bronx Museum, NY; China Millennium Monument, Beijing, China; Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, New Paltz, NY; Saba Institution, Tehran, Iran, and the Spartanburg Art Museum in Spartanburg, SC.

Mark Gens is a multi-media artist whose work includes collage, installation, video, e-literature, sculpture, and critical writing. He received his BFA from Otis College of Art in Los Angeles CA and his MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. Mark is a queer boy who came out in New York City in the midst of the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s.
This deeply personal and political experience became the driving force in his life and in his studio practice. He has worked throughout the US teaching art to children and adults, participating in intercultural art programs, and exhibiting artwork. Although the 1980s and 1990s were a dark time in the life of NYC, Mark was also aware of the phenomenal burgeoning creativity: hip hop culture, activist art, community organizing, ACT UP, etc. He understands how creativity and cultural production have always served well political and personal action. Over the past four decades Mark has maintained a prolific art practice, “I have engaged image, object, space, and audience with the goal of raising consciousness and awakening perception.” While the core of his art practice remains the same, Mark is always exploring new methods, materials, and imagery.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR TRUMP TED CHAPIN

Trump suffers an extreme case of narcissistic personality disorder. The potential consequences for the human race of this man’s mental state, now that he has acquired power sufficient to destroy civilization with the push of a button, suggests a story line from a vintage action-hero comic book: the fate of the world at the mercy of an all-powerful villain.
The number one action hero of Trump’s childhood was Superman, who was the leading 1950’s DC Comics character, the first action hero to have a TV series with a large and loyal audience tuning in every week. Fighting for ‘Truth, Justice and the American Way’, Superman’s enemies were an endless progression of comic book villains.
Over the many decades of Superman comics, some of the story lines have featured Superman overwhelmed by evil forces, a rogue villainous Superman who becomes a direct threat to truth, justice and the American way. That rogue genre of Superman comic books provided me a metaphorical stand-in for Trump for my new series ‘The Adventures of President SuperDude’.
In this series I have collaged comic book images of a rogue Superman into wall-hung three-dimensional cartoons composed of typewriter pieces, plastics, and other found objects, mechanically connected with nuts and bolts as well as springs. These machine-like constructions illustrate the dysfunctional, illogical machinery already evident in the nascent Trump administration.
They also foreshadow the likely disasters ahead resulting from the executive branch of the American government headed by a mentally ill man.

While studying cinema at the Sorbonne, Edouard Taufenbach became fascinated with editing. He used to edit videos he shot from moving trains, then turned to photography collage, using anonymous family photographs found in flea markets. He looks for intimate moments of daily life.
For this series, Edouard Taufenbach did not, as he usually does, work with photographs that he would have found, but rather from the collection of anonymous images that director Sébastien Lifshitz has been gathering over several decades. Guided by Sébastien Lifshitz, Edouard Taufenbach has, to a greater extent, drawn photographs from it that celebrate the freedom of bodies, a freedom that blossoms in the realm of intimacy but also when in contact with nature, and in particular, water.
These images of leisure, pleasure and desire are multiplied and fragmented by Taufenbach who manually rearranges their parts, sometimes using different scales, in a composition stemming from a rule of mathematical nature. The latter is specific to each one of the original images which, in a way, impose it. It points to, highlights and amplifies a formal or narrative aspect. The curves of a body here, a gesture there. Conversely it also allows the complete reinterpretation of the image, the invention of a new one. Who would suspect that this bouquet of feminine silhouettes, the dynamism of which is reinforced by its vertical format, comes from a horizontal image featuring a rather sensible farandole of bathers? In any case Edouard Taufenbach has worked with an open jubilation that also sets the tone for some titles: Hommage à Pierre M., (Tribute to Pierre M.) for erotomaniac, cross-dressing and fetishist artist Pierre Molinier, or Hippolyte B. Junior, for Hippolyte Bayard, one of the inventors of photography who, for lack of recognition, staged himself as a drowned man.
In Spéculaire, the action frozen by the snapshot is a consequence of fragmentation and repetition and seems to be taking place over time, well beyond the photograph, and thanks to the changes of scale, the gaze seems to be able to penetrate the depth of the image. These effects are reinforced by the paper cuts – almost facets – whose shimmer evokes glass and its reflections, when the artist does not produce real volumes, by folding the image or placing it under prisms, forcing the gaze to move. However, Edouard Taufenbach does not just animate flat and fixed images. He manages to inject life into these anonymous photographs of the past in which we usually cannot help but watch out for death at work.

To see the reality of e-waste matters, he, as a residency artist, worked in Gowanus E-waste Warehouse, which is owned by LES Ecology Center from 2014 to 2015. To find a proper way to maintain electric/electronic artworks, he, as one of technicians, has been helping to restore Nam June Paik’s video artworks in New York City from 2015 until now.

ABOUT MERCEDES NUGENT-HEAD
I am French but I have lived in New York City for almost two decades. I studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York and spent a couple of summers at the Beaux Arts in Paris and at the Florence Academy of Art. After several years in Chelsea, I recently moved into my new studio in Long Island City.
I am a member of the Portrait Society of America and The Art Student League of New York.  I have participated in few solo and group exhibitions in New York and France.  I work mostly on commissions for portraits or landscapes and my paintings can be found in private collections in the USA and France.

Samuel Staffan is a Brooklyn based artist exploring our relationship to the natural world, the passing of time and the fragility of memory. Using a range of techniques from a self-developed method of layering and tearing rice paper as a way of “adding some time” onto the paintings to working on Japanese papers while they are completely saturated with water, materiality and texture play a huge role in the work. Using these layered and weathered surfaces the paintings become a pursuit to examine the most extreme fringes of human’s relationship to time, trying to find the eternal, the transient and the infinite in nature. The hazy, half-remembered depictions of the natural world evoke a melancholic spirit but still manage to remain optimistic and hopeful.

Is it the case that when we least expect it, when we are overwhelmed by our circumstances and when despair begins to take us over, something or someone ends up helping us? If the answer is yes, then we can call that help Providence, Luck or Destiny.
Giovanni Pulze’s positive response to this is simply the representation of an ‘Angel’. Not an angel in the traditional religious sense of the term, and not a pictorial transposition for the modern cinematic kind of angels depicted by Wim Wenders. This ‘Angel’ can be any person, someone met in the street, someone met by chance or by mistake, someone who could perhaps change your day with their smile, or change your life with a gesture. The white wings therefore become a metaphor, a symbol for potential, this ‘something’ that we all have and that can be harnessed, right here right now, to offer help within this Daily Paradise we exist in.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Giovanni Pulze, was born in Italy at Piove di Sacco in the province of Padua on 1960, now resident in Badoere in the province of Treviso. First solo exhibitions in 1981. From a casual encounter with the “Maestro” Orlando Fasano at the time retired in the country side of Venice in Mogliano Veneto after having spent many years in Paris and meeting and working with many famous painters like of Picasso, Mirò, Cocteau and Prevert, a great friendship develops and G.P. discovers more of the modern art. From 1991 he started to develop works of modern art, with a side line of designing a line of sport wear labeled ‘Jeans Latino’ additionally a very well received line of fashion eyewear, designing for Safilo, Marcolin, Celes, Filos Piave, Valberra. Pulzeʼs creations were part of collection for Versace, Valentino, Roccobarocco.
A well-received collection was the one inspired by ten great masters of modern art, from Modigliani to Picasso, Dalì to Fontana and Warhol. Pulze worked with ceramics, creating collections of Totems/Towers and others objects. In the late 1990 his glance to the fantastic takes Giovanni to study the work of the English painter Turner and of the German painter C.D. Friedrich from where heʼll learn the sense of ‘Emptiness’ and the ‘Loneliness of the Humanity’. From 1999 the dominate theme of his paintings is the presence of the ‘Metropolitan Angel’.
