We’d been talking about expanding our glassware to include wine glasses for a couple of years, but I really was never convinced that any glass was better for wine than good old Riedel or Spiegelau. I kinda thought most “interesting” or “modern” looking wine glasses were goofy. Until I saw these and just about lost it. This glassware is just so exquisite. Designed in Milan and made by small glass manufacturers in Italy, these pieces are a wonder.

We made and ate off hundreds of prototypes for The Dinner Plate before landing on this form. It has a slight lip for neat stacking and fits just right into standard dishwasher racks. It’s equally perfect for showing off a carved holiday roast as it is for keeping an egg-and-cheese off your bedspread the morning after a late night. Fuqugi—the woodworking workshop responsible for this little cutie—is named for the fukugi tree, an evergreen tree native to the Philippines regarded for its strength and resilience in the face of wind, rain, sea, and salt.  A stark contrast to the function of this bud vase, which, when holding a delicate, fleeting bloom, calls attention to time passing, things changing, birth, death, rebirth, seasons coming and going, sorrow when it’s gone, joy knowing it’ll be back.

90% sure that I had a tiramisu shaped candle from this company when I was 9 years old, so was extra glad to come across their work again in my adulthood. These candles are just incredible. The melon is so luscious. The grapes? Chef’s kiss! The lemon may even have a touch of green toward one end, like a real ripening lemon. If someone showed up at my house with a little basket full of these candles, I know we’d be friends. I feel like they’re at a price where you’ll actually burn them, too, instead of just letting them gather dust. Imagine a platter overflowing with grapes, with the grape candle in the center, propped up higher than the rest, glowing sweetly.

Using a butter bell for the first time might seem daunting. Please let us assure you that it’s not. Just put a little water in the base, squish your butter sticks in the bowl of the lid, put two and two together, and voila—perfectly spreadable butter that won’t go rancid. Just change the water out every week or so. Made in Asheville by our favorite glassblower Hayden Wilson.

Here is the evidence: napkins made of linen from Belgium’s storied Libeco, a fifth-generation family business whose mills have provided the world with top-quality textiles since 1858. The flax woven into the fiber will give you all the slubs and knots.
We had tables set with Amaro, Panna Cotta, Eggshell and Morel in mind when we chose the colors for these napkins. Other glazes are also quite welcome.
