The No 56 Bentwood Stool is a fine example of Michael Thonet's approach in manufacturing.  His approach in using pre-prepared molds, uniform veneers, and mechanical procedures allowed him to create the No56 bentwood stool, but also use many of the same parts from this chair in other bentwood designs.
In 1856, the growth of the Gebruder Thonet company had completely outpaced the 70 person production facility at Mollardgasse.  A new factory would be set up in Koritschan, Moravia (modern-day the Czech Republic).  Koritschan offered a vast amount of beechwood, a railway going through the village, and inexpensive labor.  Michael and two of his sons, Michael and August, moved to Kortischan at this time to produce the 56 bentwood stool among other bentwood furniture.

The Ola M TS Stool by Midj is inspired by Mies van der Rohe's principle of "less is more", meaning remove the superfluous in order to leave the essential. In the Ola design, there are two souls which are in direct contrast.  On one hand the metal tubular frame, on the other hand, the sinuous shell, which is in metal.

The Nuvola Series of furniture, including the Nuvola Stool, was introduced at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2016.  The Series was met with great reviews.  Using styling from the modern classic era, the Nuvola combines old with new.  The base, developed by Midj's in-house studio, uses a contemporary tubular steel style.  This combination works great together to produce an outstanding bar or kitchen stool.
In this particular version, the Midj Nuvola M CU Stool uses Italian hide leather for the seat and the back. The frame of the stool is steel that can be lacquered in one of several different colors.

Nina Stool By Artifort

The K36 Bench and M36 Table are two of Tecta’s most recent furniture item. The company’s co-owner, Christian Drescher, met Andree Weissert­ at a design festival in 2013. Tecta’s­­presentation was entitled "Flying Furni­ture", and Weissert’s was called "I Believe I Can Fly". As a result of this happy coincidence, the two fell into conversa­tion, and are now working together, united in their passion for the poetry of design and the belief that it is essentially a dialogue between ideas, materials, and production techniques.
The K36 Bench and its matching M36 Dining Table are the third in a series inspired by a U-Bahn viaduct seen on a­ Sunday stroll in Berlin’s Kreuzberg dis­trict. The structure of the bridge, designed by engineers to absorb dynamic stresses, consists of load-bearing struts and braces that follow the lines of force and combine them into a functional whole. It is entirely self-contained, a quality that Weissert’s work also seeks to achieve.
Weissert describes himself as a "structural engineer of the emotions", and his works are usually assembled in the workshop before being recorded on paper. The version with the wooden base reflects the constraints of the studio, while the tubular frame is the result of his own observations, and of conversations with Axel Bruchhäuser and Christian Drescher in the Tecta factory.

60 years after the introduction, Martin Visser's SE 69 Armchair has become part of the Spectrum collection again! This iconic classic, with a timeless design and excellent comfort, was designed by Martin Visser in 1959. In the 1950s, a period of reconstruction after the Second World War, there was a strong need for modern, high-quality furniture produced close to home. This was the key to the success of the SE 69 dining room chair. The reintroduction of this dining room chair underlines that these are still characteristic values ​​in the Spectrum collection today. The SE 69 can be upholstered in many different fabrics and leathers. The chair has a square tubular frame and is powder-coated in black.
