This ring is a part of a capsule collection I wanted to offer as mini secret weapons against our worst thoughts.
Hand carved wax cast into solid brass.
Each ring has been oxidized and lightly polished to show texture and highlights.
Engraved inside “you deserve to be here” as a gentle reminder that no matter where you are, you belong just as much as the person beside you.
I spent a lifetime feeling like I was just not quite the right fit. Not quite good enough, smart enough, cool enough or whatever enough to truly belong. This is something I have found to be common in many of us.
Imposter syndrome anyone?
Well, in 2017 I became a mother and decided I really needed to work on a new way to respond to that little dark cloud that appears at the most inopportune times. This negative narrative, self doubtful reactions and responses are contagious! Especially to our little ones.
My Sithi asked me one day, “Jessie, What would you say to your 6yr old, 12 yr old, 16 yr old self? Would you talk down to her the way you are doing to yourself now?”
I held onto that image and when I start having negative thoughts, I close my eyes and imagine my daughter. So innocent and full of life.
Long story short…
This little mantra “ You deserve to be here” is something I carry around with me and cling to tightly.
So, whoever you are, wherever you are, you also deserve to be here. Just as much as any of us.

Note: Depending on your ph, some people’s skin responds differently to brass. If you are one of these people, try this same ring in sterling! Or, if you are a die hard brass fan like me...you can paint a thin coat of clear nail polish on the inside of the band to create a protective layer between the metal and your skin. Reapply as needed over the years.
