Hans Brattrud designed the Scandia range in 1957 as a school project. At that time, however, he was not able to manufacture the chairs properly.
In 1958, Brattrud saw laminated wooden products for the first time on a fair in Germany and understood that this was the right method for industrializing his Scandia design. High voltage laminating was in it's infancy, but he convinced a factory in Norway, Hove Møbler, to buy equipment for wood laminating. They then began manufacturing the Scandia range in 1961.
They were manufactured in Norway and distributed all over the world until the early 1970`s.
Today they are sold at auctions and vintage shops all over the world and have become a true Scandinavian classic.
Hans had his own design office in Oslo from 1958 until 1963 and developed many national and international projects. Working on one of these projects made him interested in prefabricating houses. After this, his primary focus was to develop designs for prefabricating houses and other architectural patents. Today the Scandia chair is manufactured exclusively by the Norwegian company, Fjordfiesta, with approval of Hans Brattrud.

Fermob furniture undergoes several stages of rust proofing followed by two paint stages: a Fermob-exclusive process in one of the most efficient plants in Europe.
The paint is a DuPont powder, 100% polyester, anti-UV, deposited electrostatically on the furniture for optimal coverage, then baked at 193°, just like in the car industry. Grid Pendant

In 1955 Barba Corsini renovated the loft space within Antonio Gaudi's famous building "La Pedrera" in Barcelona, transforming it from a simple laundry room and storage area into 13 modern duplex apartments. Corsini used a series of parabolic arcs to create individual rooms and give an illusion of space and height. To reinforce the modernist style of the rooms, Corsini decorated the apartments with furniture and lighting that he designed himself, including the Pedrera PD2 floor lamp. Standing an impressive 44" in height, this perforated metal lighting fixture has quite a presence no matter the location.

In order to mark the fiftieth anniversary of this exceptional design, in 2011 Santa & Cole presented the “latest, definitive edition” (in the words of its creator) of the TMC lamp. The present version revives a number of the details that have been brushed aside throughout its heterogeneous productive life, such as the thickness and quality of the methacrylate material used in the shade or its strictly circular shape. However, it also incorporates new improvements to the up-down shade system that is no longer comprised of a row of openings at the back to insert the clamp; rather, the upper shaft is a smooth, continuous piece where the height of the shade can be adjusted using a well-positioned magnet. Agnes Medium Shelving Unit- Oak

Air is a sideboard that combines a graphic pattern of white ribs with natural cane inlays, giving a feeling of lightness and transparency to an item of furniture that often seem heavy and difficult to place in the room. Air can be used as a freestanding room divider or placed against a wall.

Woven cane gives a visible surface, but also provides a sense of depth. One can guess at what is hiding in the cupboard without this being irksome. The fact that the designs are transparent also fulfils a function. The woven cane ventilates the cupboard which is practical when storing both clothes and electronic devices.

As part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art, the Paimio Chair is an icon in furniture design. The chair was created by Alvar Aalto in 1932 as part of the furniture he designed for the tuberculosis sanatorium in the city of the same name. The frame that forms the armrests and floor runners are 2 closed loops of laminated wood. Between these rests a single sheet of plywood bent in such a way as to challenge just how far wood can be bent. The headrest and seat edge are tightly rolled to provide the greatest resiliency while the angle was chosen to provide the best position for the patient’s optimal breathing comfort. This remarkable chair is offered with a clear lacquered frame and a seat lacquered in black or white.
