Hans Brattrud designed the Scandia range in 1957 as a school project. At that time, however, he was not able to manufacture the chairs properly.
In 1958, Brattrud saw laminated wooden products for the first time on a fair in Germany and understood that this was the right method for industrializing his Scandia design. High voltage laminating was in it's infancy, but he convinced a factory in Norway, Hove Møbler, to buy equipment for wood laminating. They then began manufacturing the Scandia range in 1961.
They were manufactured in Norway and distributed all over the world until the early 1970`s.
Today they are sold at auctions and vintage shops all over the world and have become a true Scandinavian classic.
Hans had his own design office in Oslo from 1958 until 1963 and developed many national and international projects. Working on one of these projects made him interested in prefabricating houses. After this, his primary focus was to develop designs for prefabricating houses and other architectural patents. Today the Scandia chair is manufactured exclusively by the Norwegian company, Fjordfiesta, with approval of Hans Brattrud.

Serge Mouille wanted to create a practical floor light with delicate lines and a stunning visual presence. The reflective three-shade system of the PH 5 Pendant provides 100% glare-free light, directing the greater part of it downward. The starting point for w171 alma is a circle of soft sine waves diffusing light. The shape is based on a rotated sine wave, where light and shadow create a readily recognisable character. The lamp doubles as a solitary, for example freely suspended above a table, and in a group in a larger room - where it can create a pattern of floating points of light, like a ceiling of lights. The light image of concentric circles can be varied depending on the choice of light source in the E27 socket. The soft and reduced shape creates a pleasant atmosphere and lends a sculptural feeling, even in daylight, when the satin matte finish and colour of the surface emerges. With its slim silhouette, w171 alma can be mounted directly onto the ceiling or wall, or suspended freely. This makes it easy to adjust the light to the requirement of the situation. The w171 alma lamp was originally developed for a brand new co-working facility project in Stockholm, called Alma. Tham & Videgård was entrusted with refurbishing the five floors, and with developing the light sources of the building together with Wästberg.

In Theia, the materials and shapes are merely the physical manifestations of the underlying concept: merging both light and shadow in a single piece.
Theia has two faces: to discover them, simply swivel the fixture around its central axis. It can be pointed towards you for use as a reading lamp, or towards an object or a wall, creating a subtle, indirect light that immediately warms the atmosphere. Because Theia’s metal lampshade is totally opaque, this swivelling movement totally shifts the perception of the piece.

Theia’s formal design is elementary and streamlined: two half-spheres, one placed horizontally and the other vertically, which intersect with each other. Los Angeles based designer Stephen Kenn has long been inspired by clean and simple design aesthetics and the stories inherent in vintage military fabrics. In 2011 he combined those two loves by creating The Inheritance Collection. The Ethanol Hausfire takes the award-winning Modfire design and brings it into your home. This model is powered by an Eco-smart burner that uses clean-burning ethanol. It puts out a toasty 5,800 BTUs and is safe for indoor or outdoor use. Circular stainless steel burner is made in Italy and has a burn-time of 4-5 hours with a 3/4 gallon fill.
The Urbanfire is manufactured from 14 gauge rolled steel. They are hand-rolled into a sleek cone designed to both direct the heat and provide a beautiful modern centerpiece for your outdoor space.
Each one is then finished in the Modfire studio by a steel artisan. Seams are welded and smoothed, the distinctive openings are hand-formed, and the finish is applied.
Each Urbanfire is unique and will have slight variations in size and finishing. In general, they measure 22" in diameter at the base, 9" at the top and stand 48" tall. Average weight is about 65 lbs.
Each unit includes several layers of high-temperature paint to protect the steel and provide a vibrant finish.

The Era Lounge Chair is available in both a high and low version. The legs are available in oak, walnut, black lacquered steel or chrome, as well a chrome frame for the rocking chair. A footstool is also available for the Era collection, allowing ample opportunity for comfortable relaxation and rest for the feet.
Simon Legald says: "It took a while to get the proportions and the interaction between the soft curves and straight lines on the shells just right. It was crucial that the upholstering and stitching were carried out with the utmost precision. I wanted to create individual chairs where each one had its own character. I did this through the variations of the high and low versions, and by the different frames available for the chair. For example, the wooden frames are flat and add warmth while the slimmer, round steel and chrome frames give a more industrial feel. Finally, the frame for the rocking chair is a slightly unexpected and playful choice for a lounge chair".
