The Collar Pendant, designed by the German designer Sebastian Herkner, is a series of pendant lights where special attention has been paid on its details. Many architects and furniture designers of the Bauhaus era were intent on providing well-designed homes and impeccably manufactured furnishings for the "common man". In 1955, Barba Corsini, a leading functionalist architect, realized his contemporary vision through his renovation of the loft space and the furnishings he custom designed for "La Pedrera". Which was originally designed by Antoni Gaudi, the great master of Spanish Modernism but his unique body of work cannot be defined by any single style or simple classification. Corsini was a great admirer of Finnish architecture, which he believed to be the finest in Europe on account of the powerful simplicity of the designs. 'Powerful simplicity' is indeed an apt description of Corsini's personal design style, as represented by the Pedrera series.

AMBIT RAIL is constructed out of three shades mounted onto a tube; a well-known yet charming typology which showcases what seems like a reformed, modernized chandelier. Gubi has reissued the fascinating Satellite pendant light Mathieu Matègot designed in 1953. The lantern-like pendant is an application of Rigitulle, a technique and material invented by the French designer himself: a sheet of metal is bent and folded to form an oblong shape. The perforated and pleated metal shade creates an illusion of soft fabric and filters light in a pleasant, festive manner. Satellite has a unique, colourful design that catches the eye immediately. Its name is Matégot’s tribute to the scientific progress in France after the Second World War.
