Gary Allson designs and makes hand turned wooden bowls and plates inspired by observations and insights into daily living. His work is made in his studio in Cornwall using locally sourced sustainable timber: oak, beech, cherry and ash. Following traditional techniques and natural surface finishes, the work is intentionally kept simple so that the emphasis is on the idea.

MA Graduate of RCA, Gary assisted Anthony Gormley in the making of Angel of the North. Gary is a visiting lecturer at University College Falmouth and continues to develop his digital work from his studio. His work has been exhibited throughout the UK and Europe.

This red teacup is made from black clay from Tokomame, where Tetsuya Ozawa lives and works. Strong, yet light-weight, its simple form accentuates the piece's surface. Ozawa applies a traditional Japanese glaze, Chara, and uses ‘kofuki’, a dusting technique, to create his interesting uneven and organic surfaces. Glimpses to the material underneath are achieved through a technique comparable to abstract drawing. Following the firing process, white soil is applied in a thin layer, enhancing the rough texture of the piece.

Ozawa's designs are created in a way that leave them open to interpretation and multiple uses and purposes. His tableware is made 'imperfect' with the hope that the pieces will continually evolve through daily use. This characterful teacup, with its intricate surface patterning and delicate handle, will be a delight to use and is sure to bring joy to your tea-drinking ritual.

Tetsuya Ozawa originates from Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, but now lives in Tokomame City, Aichi Prefecture, which has been celebrated for its ceramic production since the Heian Period (794-1185). Ozawa’s decision to be a ceramicist was made early on, and he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Japanese Fine Arts from Nagoya University. He went on to train under Yoshikawa Masamichi. Ozawa’s tableware creations reconcile inspiration taken from modern crafts, tea culture and folk arts.

Celia Dowson is an artist whose ceramics and cast glass objects go far beyond their functional use. Celia graduated with a BA in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins in 2014, before receiving her MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art in 2018.
Celia works with the different properties of glass and porcelain to evoke the movement of nature in different ways. Her porcelain vessels represent evolving landscapes, mountainscapes and seascapes through marks and gestures. Her glass pieces vary in thickness, causing subtle gradations in colour. This reflects the colours, changing light and mystery of the natural world.
Celia’s work has been exhibited widely and is part of two museum collections, Bullseye Projects in Portland, USA and the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan. Her unique and skillful manipulation of ceramics and glass have earned her awards such as the 2020 Wallpaper* Design Award and the 2019 FRANZ Rising Star Award.

Simple yet characterful jug crafted by Fumihiro Toda in saitou technique. Pieces are dipped in a metallic glaze containing iron and manganese, wiped off moderately, and then covered with a non-glossy white glaze. The unevenness of the metallic glaze comes out through the white glaze, resulting in the striking antique look.
This pitcher, restrained in both form and palette, is a timeless and wonderful addition to the home, with a wide variety of possible uses.

Japanese maker Fumihiro Toda was born in Nagano. After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Fumihiro worked for a Telecommunications company for several years.
In 1998 Toda graduated from Gifu Prefectural Tajimi Technical High School, majoring in Ceramic Science and Art. He started to produce ceramics from a studio that he rented in Ohata-cho, Tajimi City, and now, after 12 years of honing his craft, Toda is celebrated within the ceramic community. His works are rustic, restrained and wonderfully light, and have been featured in many exhibitions and has been the recipient of numerous awards. Toda is now based in Tokorozawa City, where he fires his work in a self-made kiln.

"Traditions learned during a childhood spent in Greece - collecting pebbles on the beaches of the idyllic Cycladic island of Naxos, lighting candles with my grandparents in churches decked with gold and precious icons, gazing at displays of ancient gold jewellery on museum visits to Athens - are an enduring influence on my work

After studying Fine Art at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London, I found my focus drawn to metalwork, welding and forging. I travelled throughout South and Central America heading for Taxco, the centre of silversmithing in Mexico. I studied the craft there, before moving to west London where I have had a jewellery studio for the past 30 years.

I handcraft in 18 karat gold and m y jewellery is made to be worn everyday. My hope is that the warmth and healing properties of the gold and stones that I use become part of an individual's story. The nature of the way I work makes every piece unique. I have recently begun making my own chains. Each one takes many hours to make, but I love the meditative process of soldering each individual link and allowing little pools of gold solder to form and become part of the design. These chains are delicate and organic yet enduringly strong - the ideal starting point on which to suspend a collection of treasures, beautiful stones and charms."

Fired to a little over 1300c in a kiln which is built in one of the old cart buildings on site, this handled beaker is finished with a an earthy blue glaze exterior.

Managed by Matt Grimmitt with the help of two other throwers, John Forster and Joseph Fuller Winchcombe Pottery is one of the longest running craft Potteries in the country. Dating back to 1800 it was an old country pottery using clay from the site and producing everyday wares for the surrounding towns and villages.
Michael Cardew took The Pottery on in 1926 and fired the pots in the old up-draught bottle kiln that still stands today. The Pottery now produces wood fired domestic stoneware pots, which are fired using local wood from a saw mill close to Winchcombe.

All of Winchcombe's pottery is suitable for use in ovens, microwaves and dishwashers.

Large lidded container crafted by Sun Kim. Sun's containers are thrown on the potter's wheel, then cut and assembled using hand building techniques. She explores the plasticity of the clay by folding, stretching, and assembling. The inscribed lines play a key role within her pieces, emphasising the sense of volume, tension and expansion.
Sun’s distinctive functional ceramics explore and reconcile the different cultures, tastes and aesthetics which she was exposed to whilst growing up, as well as continually taking inspiration from her surroundings. With porcelain and stoneware Sun creates ceramics which combine both traditional and contemporary aesthetics.

Korean Sun Kim was born in Saudi Arabia and grew up in Brazil. Sun studied Fine Art in Sao Paulo, where she was introduced to ceramics by one of Brazil’s most eminent ceramicists, Lucia Ramenzoni. A passion for working with clay was cultivated during her first BA and she continued to train at Alfred University in New York. This second BA allowed Sun to develop and expand her practice to encompass throwing and hand-building . In 2004 Sun moved to England to work as an assistant to potter and author Edmund de Waal, who she still works for today, alongside at her own studio which she set up in 2007.
Sun’s work is widely exhibited throughout the UK and Europe and is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Northern Ireland and Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art, Japan.

Following a five year apprenticeship with The Goldsmiths’ Company, Kerry completed an MA in Goldsmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery at the Royal College of Art. She now divides her time between London and East Sussex, where she has her own workshop.

Using traditional jewellers techniques Seaton's work is balanced, evoking a sense of stillness.

Kerry now works between workshops in both London and Sussex.

Ram Rijal grew up in Nepal, where he spent much of his time watching the craftsman in Kathmandu hammering and forging their creations. He is a self-taught jeweller, now living and working in London, and his memories of Nepal are fundamental to his jewellery designs. His work has been displayed in prestigious galleries and featured in many publications.

All pieces are made by hand in the UK
