Fashion designer Arthur Arbesser has a particular skill with pattern and color. His bold graphic prints are frequently inspired by the architecture and design heritage of his home city, Vienna. For Hem he has applied his skills to a series of rugs and throws. Each features a distinctive styled pattern in an appealingly unconventional color palette. The Arch Throw is a graphic architectural motif with a reversible pattern for twice the decorative potential. Hem has used these striking materials as the covers for Storm, our delightfully inventive cushion collection. Designer Staffan Holm took inspiration from archetypal bentwood chairs and borrowed traditional Japanese carpentry traditions, and used just a few simple joints to maintain a clean line and open structure. Colored wood stains accentuate a lively wood grain, and a generous seat promises a comfortable sit. Cork is a wonder material—naturally warm, flexible, strong, water resistant, and renewable. Designer Lars Beller Fjetland was inspired after salvaging soft, smooth pieces of driftwood cork from a beach in Norway and went on to use it as an alternative to upholstery in our family of Drifted Stools. The warm and tactile cork seats are paired with sturdy oak frames for strength and longevity. Drifted is available in two heights and two types of cork; the darker version achieves its deep color from being smoked.
