The Capo series was initially designed for the Italian restaurant Capo in Shanghai, where the interior design concept was based on a basilica and possessed an old world charm of masonry enclosure appointed with handsomely crafted detailing. The chair series also takes on those qualities of heritage, where the simple and modern form is enriched with tailoring details that evoke old-world sensibilities.

Mitch Cabinet

Kimble is a Windsor chair named after a neighbouring village of High Wycome in Buckinghamshire, where the Windsor chair originated. The chair uses traditional Windsor chair making techniques in order to further the story, the evolution of the English Windsor chair. The contrast of the black walnut seat on this otherwise ash chair, attractively highlights the wedge tenon detail where the leg intersects with the top of the seat.

The Extend Mirrors are an abstraction of the common bamboo ladders used as household objects inside and outside country homes in China. These mundane ladders functioned as an ever-ready stand for hanging a wide variety of things from tools and cloths to dried food. A Chinese ladder is a reflection of its owner, revealing information about them based on how they choose to use it. As a tribute to this utilitarian household symbol, Neri&Hu used three different ladder proportions to make a set of solid hardwood frames for floor standing mirrors — literal reflections of the user.

The furniture and objects from PLANEfurniture, because of their neutral forms and minimal physical and psychological space they occupy, coexist seamlessly with other good designs - even objects from an entirely different visual vocabulary, country of origin, or era.
PLANEfurniture is an idea whose time has come: the concept is to create unfussy, beautiful furniture that makes you think, holds your body, eases your mind, and sits well within your budget. Four series - the PLANKseries, WEDGEseries, BLOCKseries, and RODseries - round out the indoor/outdoor roster of planar wood and steel rod designs. The PLANKseries is the most uncompromising. Four flat planes are invisibly joined to create a chair that is elemental as a child's drawing. Each plane is set at an angle to its neighbor to form a bold X in profile and the illusion of a ledge jutting from a tilted plank at the front. It is simultaneously a geometric sculpture that stands apart, and a surprisingly comfortable place to sit. (You are reminded that a kimono is assembled from a few rectangles of fabric that adjust to the contours of the user). Stools and side tables complement the chairs.

Jason Miller’s furniture for De La Espada is inspired by the housing trend currently prevalent in Brooklyn, where 100-year-old brownstones, originally built as single family homes then converted into apartment buildings, are being converted back into single family homes. Many of these buildings still retain original details such as ornate fireplaces, moldings and woodwork, but are in need of renovations, creating an interesting juxtaposition of old and new design. Jason Miller’s product line captures this juxtaposition of time, purpose, and aesthetics.

The Carrara Black Extō+4 is the first of its kind: a square, 4-outlet electrical extension of timeless design. The housing is a textured matte black finish with black outlets and cork inlet covers. The cord is charcoal and black houndstooth cotton thread woven on 50 year old machines in the Pacific Northwest. The Extō+4 is assembled sweatshop-free in Seattle, Washington of components from nearly 25 sources, mostly in the United States. The square cast-aluminum housing won't slide or tip and can be screwed to a wall or other surface using the self-tapping screw holes on the underside. The cord is 8 feet of industrial-quality 14 gauge wire rated to 15 AMPs. The Extō+4 is the only 4-outlet modular power source with internal tamper resistant barriers protecting the electric current from little objects, helping prevent shock. The product has been tested and listed by Underwriters Laboratories, where it went through a series of safety tests to assure consumer product safety, including UL/CSA FT-2 flame test with good results, and is the only product of its type to achieve UL Listing. It has a three-prong grounded plug at the end of the cord. The outlets face upwards for easy access. The housing is finished with a custom powder coat, not painted, for durability and reduced emissions. Non-slip, non-marking urethane feet keep the Extō in place on a table, counter or other hard surface. The cover is secured with flat stainless socket-head machine bolts for tamper resistance. Oversize barrel plug is overmolded with rubber for easier grip and helps prevent dings if dropped. The BLOCKseries could be seen as Boyd's homage to De Stijl in its asymmetrical geometry and its juxtaposition of planes and square rods defining surfaces and volumes. Half closed, half open, BLOCK tables come in varying heights, but employ the same wood elements for each. Unlike the chairs, where the components and the outline are paired to a minimum, BLOCK represents a layering of parts, and an elaboration of the assembly. There is also a coffee table that accommodates a square of glass on a cruciform base.

Two Seater Low Settle

Hepburn is a luxurious upholstered bed with elegant simplicity and visual lightness achieved through the clever use of superb materials.
A slim platform lifts the mattress above slender solid wood legs. Optional side tables in solid wood connect intuitively to the underside of the bed, and ‘float’ above the floor, maintaining the visual levity of the form. The bed is ideal for compact spaces as the frame is only minimally larger than the mattress.
Interested in the idea of impossible lightness, Matthew Hilton tries to create the feeling of greater spaciousness in a room by reducing the visual weight of his furniture. Hepburn Bed is part of a series of ‘impossibly light’ products including Hepburn Sofa and Light Table.

Platform base is an advanced, black dyed wood composite with an oil and wax finish. This panel has holes for air circulation. NOTE: The platform surface is smooth, thus a small amount of mattress movement may occur, though in most cases the weight of the mattress will hold it in place. If you prefer to control the movement, you may wish to use a non-slip mattress pad.
Please note that when using leather to upholster the expansive surface of the headboard, De La Espada's craftspeople will use their discretion to ensure the natural variations in the hide’s color and grain are most elegantly displayed. This may mean adding stitch lines to the headboard.
