Italian-born Brazilian architect-designer Lina Bo Bardi (1914"1992) was one of the most influential Brazilian modernist architects of the 20th century. Although she is recognized most for her architectural projects, Bo Bardi was also a talented editor, jewelry designer, set designer, illustrator, furniture designer, and curator.
Born Lina Achillina Bo in 1914 in Rome, Bo Bardi studied Architecture at the University of Rome, graduating in 1919. She subsequently moved to Milan, where she worked alongside architect Carlo Pagani. During this time, she also collaborated with architect-designer Gio Ponti on the magazine Lo Stile.
In 1942, Bo Bardi established her own architectural studio, but it was completely destroyed a year later by an air raid. In 1943, she co-founded the publication A Cultura della Vita with Bruno Zevi, and from 1944 until 1945, she was the editor of Ponti"s famous Domus magazine. Her role at Domus prompted her active involvement in the Italian Communist Party, through which she met her future husband, art critic and historian Pietro Maria Bardi. In these years, Bo Bardi also contributed to several other publications, including the daily newspaper Milano Sera directed by Elio Vittorini, as well as Stile, Grazia, Belleza, Tempo, Vetrina, and Illustrazione Italiana.
Bo Bardi moved to So Paulo in 1946 after her husband was invited to found a new art museum there. Together they established the influential arts and architecture magazine Habitat (1951"54). In 1948, Bo Bardi co-founded the Studio de Arte e Arquitetura Palma with Giancarlo Palanti (1906"77) and began to manufacture economical, modernist furniture for her own architectural commissions. Distinguished designs include the Bowl Chair (1951)"which combined Brazil's penchant for pronounced forms with European industrial minimalism"and the Cadeira Beira de Estrada or Roadside Chair (1967).

Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. As a teenager he submerged himself in skateboard culture and graffiti art, the foundation of the detailed, bold-yet-whimsical imagery so prominent in his work today. He studied industrial design in Madrid and Paris then opened his own studio a few years later.
He began with a collection of designer toys, ceramics and furniture, later followed by interior design and installations. Jaime Hayon created the Favn sofa and the Ro Lounge chair for Fritz Hansen. They are designed with great attention to detail and have become main stays of the Fritz Hansen collection.
In 2007 Hayon has collaborated with Moooi to produce the Element Series of objects and furniture.

Isamu Noguchi was born in Los Angeles in 1904 to Yone Noguchi, a Japanese poet, and Leonie Gilmor, an American writer. Noguchi lived in Japan from the age of two until 1918 when he returned to the United States to attend school in Indiana. In 1922 Noguchi moved to New York to study pre-medicine at Columbia University. He also took night courses in sculpture with Onorio Ruotolo and soon after, he left Columbia in pursuit of a career in the arts.
In 1927 Noguchi received a Guggenheim Fellowship for a trip to Paris and the Far East. For six months in Paris, he worked in the studio of Constantin Brancusi and his own work became more abstract as Noguchi explored working with stone, wood and sheet metal. Noguchi returned to New York and in 1929 he met R. Buckminster Fuller and Martha Graham, colleagues and friends with whom he would later collaborate. In 1938 Noguchi was commissioned to complete a work for the Associated Press building in the Rockefeller Center in New York. Marking his first public sculpture, this work garnered attention and recognition for the artist in the United States.
After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Noguchi became politically involved. He started Nisei Writers and Artists Mobilization for Democracy, a group dedicated to raising awareness of the patriotism of Japanese Americans, and he volunteered to be placed in an Arizona internment camp where he resided for seven months. Following the war, he spent time in Japan exploring the issues highlighted by the conflict of war; the experiences culminating in sculptural works that were included in the exhibition Fourteen Americans hosted by the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1946.
Noguchi traveled throughout his lifetime and was inspired by experiences, artists and techniques around the world. Never confined by material or a particular movement, Noguchi"s aesthetic accomplishments covered a broad range including sculpture, furniture and lighting design, parks, gardens, theater and more. His first retrospective was held at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1968. He received multiple accolades and awards during his lifetime and in 1986 he represented the United States at the Venice Biennale. A testament to his commitment to public spaces, in 1985 Noguchi opened The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum in Long Island City, New York (now known as The Noguchi Museum) and today his legacy lives on through the museum"s work. Noguchi died in 1988 at the age of eighty-four.

He was born as Charles-douard Jeanneret-Gris (1887-1914) in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a small city in Neuchtel canton in north-western Switzerland, in the Jura mountains, just 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) across the border from France.
Le Corbusier began experimenting with furniture design in 1928 after inviting the architect, Charlotte Perriand, to join his studio. His cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, also collaborated on many of the designs. Before the arrival of Perriand, Le Corbusier relied on ready-made furniture to furnish his projects, such as the simple pieces manufactured by Thonet, the company that manufactured his designs in the 1930s.
In 1928, Le Corbusier and Perriand began to put the expectations for furniture Le Corbusier outlined in his 1925 book L"Art Dcoratif d"aujourd"hui into practice. In the book he defined three different furniture types: type-needs, type-furniture, and human-limb objects. He defined human-limb objects as:"Extensions of our limbs and adapted to human functions that are type-needs and type-functions, therefore type-objects and type-furniture. The human-limb object is a docile servant. A good servant is discreet and self-effacing in order to leave his master free. Certainly, works of art are tools, beautiful tools. And long live the good taste manifested by choice, subtlety, proportion, and harmony".
The first results of the collaboration were three chrome-plated tubular steel chairs designed for two of his projects, The Maison la Roche in Paris and a pavilion for Barbara and Henry Church. The line of furniture was expanded for Le Corbusier"s 1929 Salon d"Automne installation,"Equipment for the Home".

Industrial designer and inventor. Born in Roskilde, Denmark, in 1932. With the aim of becoming a graphic designer, Thor-Larsen underwent a 4-year apprenticeship which was concluded with a qualifying piece of work for membership of a guild as a journeyman. He got maximum marks. After a few years' practice in Denmark, he worked in Norway and Switzerland. It was 1956.
Thor-Larsen designed and built a very well-received sports and racing car in plastic on a Porsche chassis in Stockholm.
Thor-Larsen was discovered by Saab and was asked to design the seats for the company's new product, the slightly more sporty model Sonett. His interest then turned increasingly to industrial design and it was not a big step from car seats to easy chairst.

Hans Jrgensen Wegner, (April 2, 1914 - January 26, 2007), was a world renowned Danish furniture designer. His high quality and thoughtful work, along with a concerted effort from several of his manufacturers,1 contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. His style is often described as Organic Functionality, a modernist school with emphasis on functionality. This school of thought arose primarily in Scandinavian countries with contributions by Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, and Arne Jacobsen. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many of which have become recognizable design icons.
Wegner worked for some time for Arne Jacobsen, a successful Danish designer. Wegner was in charge of the furniture in the Aarhus Municipal Hall, which Jacobsen designed.3 After some years under Jacobsen, Wegner started his own company. Along with fellow architect Brge Mogensen, he designed furniture for FDB (a Danish chain of grocery stores), spearheaded by Erik Kold" who founded an organization of Danish furniture makers that launched Danish design abroad.
In his later years Wegner became more attached to PP Mbler (which produces many of pieces originally designed for Johannes Hansen) and for whom he designed several chairs late in his life. He remained active throughout his life. An example of his later work is the"Hoop Chair", originally designed in 1965 with a steel tube base and finally put into production made entirely in wood in 1985 (for PP Mbler). Wegner retired from public life only in the last decade of his life.

Eero Aarnio (b. 1932) is a Finnish designer and professor h.c. and is considered one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. During the years, Aarnio has experimented with a variety of different materials, including plastic, fibreglass and foam plastic. With these materials he has created some of the icons of Finnish design such as the Ball Chair (1962), Bubble Chair (1968) and Pastil Chair (1968), just to name a few.

In 1929 at the Salon D'autumne in Paris, Le Corbusier and his team of designers presented a revolutionary collection of furniture that stunned the city. Among the pieces was the ethereal yet bold LC6 Table (1928), a mathematically refined structure of steel and glass that has become one of the most important International Style tables of the 20th century. Made of aeronautical steel, the base is welded for a seamless finish with sculpted angles and smooth, mitered corners.
The table top is a 19mm-thick rectangle of tempered glass, making the LC6 equally right as a dining table or in the conference room. Together the elements create a sense of line, scale and proportion unsurpassed by other designs.

Swiss-born Charles-douard Jeanneret, best known by his adopted name Le Corbusier, was a highly influential architect, designer, painter, urban planner and writer whose career spanned almost five decades. A pioneer of progress-minded modern architecture, Le Corbusier sought to impose a rational order on the chaos of the world through design. He rejected the excessive architectural ornament and developed a style that became known as Brutalism, creating buildings with elemental geometric forms that were made of industrial materials such as steel and reinforced concrete. Le Corbusier believed that pure, well-designed spaces could offer a lesson in how little is needed to achieve happiness. To convey this notion, the architect prioritized modern, open interiors and emphasized light, rational designs. His architecture and interiors share a clear sense of space and structural order, underlining the beauty in harmony, proportion and simplicity.
Le Corbusier"s furniture espouses these same ideals. His designs are spare, minimal and efficient but at the same time offer supreme comfort. Collaborating with his cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, and designer Charlotte Perriand, he devised such iconic pieces as the LC2 Le Grand Confort armchair and the LC4 chaise longue. Each couples a tubular chrome frame with soft, supple leather upholstery, lending an organic warmth to an industrially made design. In his furniture, Le Corbusier broke new ground in ergonomics. The shape of the LC4 chaise is taken directly from the human form; the classic cowhide upholstery makes the sitter feel weightless; and the piece features an adjustable positioning mechanism to promote total relaxation.
Such planning and intelligence were the hallmarks of Le Corbusier"s career. Whether in his designs for private residences such as the Villa Savoye near Paris, apartment towers like the Unit D'habitation in Marseilles, or in his furniture, he worked toward a style of living that was expansive and flexible. The strength and simplicity of line of Le Corbusier"s seating pieces give them a sculptural presence in any dcor, yet they are sublimely restful. When you look at the graceful shapes and sensual curves of Finn Juhl"s work, you may be shocked to realize that he designed these pieces 60 to 70 years ago. A pioneering force in his own country, Finn Juhl is also credited, along with fellow Danes Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Borge Mogensen and Poul Kjaerholm, with introducing Danish modern to midcentury America.
Although he initially wanted to become an art historian, his father persuaded him to attend the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture. By 1934, he had a prestigious position with architect Vilhelm Lauritzen and was exploring the functionalism movement by creating clean, geometrical buildings like the broadcasting house Radiohuset, a pinnacle of Danish architecture that now houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
Juhl considered himself an architect of the interior as well as the exterior. He began designing furniture like the Poet Sofa (1941) for use in his own home, located north of Copenhagen. Juhl felt that furniture, handicraft and art should create a completeness of the house, which in his case was decorated with works by the Danish painters of the time. Today, the Finn Juhl House" an early example of open-plan design with views to its garden from every room" is part of the Ordrupgaard Museum.
In 1937, Juhl began collaborating with master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, and the pair was the buzz of the 1945 Cabinetmakers" Guild exhibition with their expressive, sculptural pieces. One such item was the Model 45 Armchair (1945), which broke from tradition by freeing the upholstered areas from the wood frame.
At age 39, Juhl made his U.S. debut in 1951 at the Good Design exhibit in Chicago and at MoMA in New York, and he represented Denmark in creating the interior of a meeting hall at the United Nations headquarters. A few years later, SAS asked Juhl to redesign the interior of its air terminals in Europe and Asia.
Finn Juhl is still winning awards decades after his death: The Wallpaper Design Award 2010 was awarded to the Baker Sofa (1951) in the category of Best Reissue.

Harry Bertoia (March 10, 1915 - November 6, 1978), was an Italian-born American artist, sound art sculptor, and modern furniture designer. At the age of 15, he traveled from Italy to Detroit to visit his older brother, however he chose to stay and enrolled in Cass Technical High School, where he studied art and design and learned the art of handmade jewelrymaking. In 1938 he attended the Art School of the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts, now known as the College for Creative Studies. The following year in 1937 he received a scholarship to study at the Cranbrook Academy of Art where he encountered Walter Gropius and Edmund N. Bacon for the first time.
Opening his own metal workshop in 1939, he taught jewelry design and metal work. Later, as the war effort made metal a rare and very expensive commodity he began to focus his efforts on jewelry making. Later in 1943, he married Brigitta Valentiner, and moved to California to work at the Molded Plywood Division of the Evans Product Company. He worked for them until the war ended in September 1945.
In 1950, he moved to Pennsylvania, to establish a studio, and to work with Hans and Florence Knoll. (Florence was also a Cranbrook Graduate). During this period he designed five wire pieces that became known as the Bertoia Collection for Knoll. Among them the famous "Diamond chair" a fluid, sculptural form made from a molded lattice work of welded steel.
In Bertoia"s own words,"If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them."

Spanish by birth, and Italian by choice, Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain and studied architecture in Madrid before graduating from the Milan Politecnico in 1989. The key words for her work are: rigour and emotion, innovation and mental comfort. She was mentored by some of the masters of Italian industrial design: Achille Castiglioni oversaw her graduate thesis, and Vico Magistretti, with whom she designed her first projects. She learned her craft in Italy, and opened a studio in Milan in 2001, where she has developed a truly global enterprise. Some highlights from her career include her encounter with Maddalena de Padova (1990), her collaboration with Piero Lissoni (1996-2000), and her partnership with Patrizia Moroso (since 1998) which led to the design of the Step Sofa, eventually debuting at the Saloni Milano and launching her into the spotlight at the young age of 40. Amidst all of these accomplishments, she had a stint at Lissoni Associati, beginning in 1993, where she developed furniture for Italian giants Cappellini and Cassina. Her designs are unconventional, emphatic, and experimental, blending humanist sensibilities and technical expertise" qualities that also inform her work as an architect. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona is one of her many architectural projects.

In the 1930s, Eero Saarinen created a range of organically-shaped plywood chairs. These went on to win the MoMA-sponsored 1940 Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition. This work inspired Saarinen to design a chair that would provide exceptional comfort from its shell alone, and not just from the furnishing. His luxurious and sculptural Executive Side Chair and the matching Executive Armchair were the results. The design won the 1969 Museum of Modern Art Award and the West Germany Federal Award for Industrial Design.

Eero Saarinen, the son of influential Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen and his second wife, Louise, was born on his fathe r' s 37th birthday, August 20, 1910. They emigrated to the United States of America in 1923, when Eero was thirteen.He grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where his father was a teacher at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and he took courses in sculpture and furniture design there. He became good friends with Florence Knoll.
Beginning in September 1929, he studied sculpture at the Acadmie de la Grande Chaumre in Paris, France. He then went on to study at the Yale School of Architecture, completing his studies in 1934. Subsequently, he toured Europe and North Africa for a year and returned for a year to his native Finland, after which he returned to Cranbrook to work for his father and teach at the academy. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1940. Saarinen was recruited by Donal McLaughlin, an architectural school friend from his Yale days, to join the military service in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Saarinen was assigned to draw illustrations for bomb disassembly manuals and to provide designs for the Situation Room in the White House. Saarinen worked full-time for the OSS until 1944. After his fathe r's death in 1950, Saarinen founded his own architect' s office, " Eero Saarinen and Associates". Eero Saarinen died of a brain tumor in 1961 at the age of 51.

Poul Kjrholm (1929-1980) was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials. Poul Kjrholm was employed at Fritz Hansen for about a year, where he designed a number of noteworthy chair prototypes. In 1955 Poul Kjrholm initiated his collaboration with manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until Poul Kjrholm"s death in 1980. In 1982, Fritz Hansen took over the production and sales of"The Kjrholm Collection", developed from 1951 to 1967, designs, which are logical to the minute detail with an aura of exclusivity. In 2007 Fritz Hansen added two new pieces to the Kjrholm Collection. Pieces that were never in production before, the PK8 side chair and PK58 dining table.

The Pavilion Couch, also commonly known as the Barcelona Day Bed, was designed by Mies van der Rohe along the same minimalist lines as the well-known Pavilion Chair.
The Pavilion Couch is upholstered in genuine Italian top-grain leather on all sides (except the bottom edge) similar to Spinneybeck top-grain leather used in the original version by Knoll. The frame is constructed of solid ash wood, and finished with a dark walnut stain. The matching genuine leather headrest can be fastened to either end.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies; March 27, 1886" August 17, 1969) was a German-American architect. He is commonly referred to and was addressed as Mies, his surname. Along with Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture.
Mies, like many of his post-World War I contemporaries, sought to establish a new architectural style that could represent modern times just as Classical and Gothic did for their own eras. He created an influential twentieth-century architectural style, stated with extreme clarity and simplicity. His mature buildings made use of modern materials such as industrial steel and plate glass to define interior spaces. He strove toward an architecture with a minimal framework of structural order balanced against the implied freedom of free-flowing open space. He called his buildings "skin and bones" architecture. He sought a rational approach that would guide the creative process of architectural design, but he was always concerned with expressing the spirit of the modern era. He is often associated with his quotation of the aphorisms, "less is more" and "God is in the details".

Mario Bellini is an Italian architect and designer known for his sleek and sophisticated couches, sofas, and dining chairs. Motivated by style as well as functionality, the artist’s creations solve everyday problems one may encounter in the home. He is commonly associated with his Camaleonda modular sofa, a set of square seats that can be separated and rearranged.Born on February 1, 1935 in Milan, Italy, he attended the Polytechnic University of Milan and earned a PhD in architecture in 1959. After completing his education, Bellini was hired as a consultant to Italian electronics company Olivetti, where he remodelled the typewriter, giving it a wedge-like body and a rubber-skin keyboard. The artist also became well known for his furniture designs at this time, designing his trademark office chairs—Figura, Persona, Imago, and Forma. Since the 1980s, he mostly worked on architectural projects, designing the the Sheik Zayed Museum in 2007 and the London Link Bridge at Deustche Bank in 2010. Today, Bellini lives and works in Milan, Italy. His work is currently held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Museum of Design in New York, among others.

Spanish by birth, and Italian by choice, Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain and studied architecture in Madrid before graduating from the Milan Politecnico in 1989. The key words for her work are: rigour and emotion, innovation and mental comfort. She was mentored by some of the masters of Italian industrial design: Achille Castiglioni oversaw her graduate thesis, and Vico Magistretti, with whom she designed her first projects. She learned her craft in Italy, and opened a studio in Milan in 2001, where she has developed a truly global enterprise. Some highlights from her career include her encounter with Maddalena de Padova (1990), her collaboration with Piero Lissoni (1996-2000), and her partnership with Patrizia Moroso (since 1998) which led to the design of the Step Sofa, eventually debuting at the Saloni Milano and launching her into the spotlight at the young age of 40. Amidst all of these accomplishments, she had a stint at Lissoni Associati, beginning in 1993, where she developed furniture for Italian giants Cappellini and Cassina. Her designs are unconventional, emphatic, and experimental, blending humanist sensibilities and technical expertise" qualities that also inform her work as an architect. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona is one of her many architectural projects.

A pioneer both in molded plywood and prefab housing, Norman Cherner studied and taught at the Columbia University Fine Arts Department and was an instructor at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 1947 to 1949. Here he also explored the Bauhaus movement, embarking on a lifetime exploration of multidisciplinary design, from furniture, shelving, glassware, lighting and even toys to his pioneering work in low-cost prefabricated housing. Early in his career, Cherner envisioned houses as a total design concept and designed affordable furniture specifically for these low-cost modular dwellings. He wrote about his theories in Make Your Own Modern Furniture (1953), How to Build Children"s Toys and Furniture (1954), Fabricating Houses from Component Parts (1958) and How to Build a House for Less than $6,000 (1960). One of his first prefabricated houses was designed, produced and assembled in 1957 by the U.S. Department of Housing. After being exhibited in Vienna, it was shipped back to Connecticut and uncrated to become his first home and studio. Yet Cherner is best known for the molded plywood seating line he created for Plycraft, a manufacturing company in Lawrence, Massachusetts. After telling Cherner that his design for what is now known as the Cherner Chair (1958) had been scrapped, Plycraft"s owner continued to produce it, claiming himself as the designer. Soon after, the chair"s popularity was heightened when it appeared in Norman Rockwell"s 1961 painting"The Artist at Work" on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. Cherner sued the company, and Plycraft agreed to pay Cherner royalties, yet the whole seating line was out of production by the early 1970s. For almost 20 years, Cherner"s seating was rarely seen outside of galleries, museums and the living rooms of a few lucky collectors. This all changed in 1999 when Cherner"s sons Benjamin and Thomas formed the Cherner Chair Company to revive the designs and produce them as their father originally intended. The repeated success of the chairs inspired Benjamin, an architect, and designer in his own right, to create a coordinating table, the Cherner Table (2004).

Hoffmann was born in Brtnice, Moravia (now part of the Czech Republic). He studied at the Higher State Crafts School in Brno (Brnn) beginning in 1887 and then worked with the local military planning authority in Wrzburg.
He designed installation spaces for Secession exhibitions and a house for Moser which was built from 1901-1903. However, he soon left the Secession in 1905 along with other stylist artists due to conflicts with realist naturalists over differences in artistic vision and disagreement over the premise of Gesamtkunstwerk.3 With the banker Fritz Wrndorfer and the artist Koloman Moser he established the Wiener Werksttte, which was to last until 1932. He designed many products for the Wiener Werksttte of which designer chairs, most notably"Sitzmaschine" Chair, a lamp, and sets of glasses have reached the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, and a tea service has reached the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Hoffmann"s style eventually became more sober and abstract and it was limited increasingly to functional structures and domestic products. In 1906, Hoffmann built his first great work on the outskirts of Vienna, the Sanatorium Purkersdorf . Compared to the Moser House, with its rusticated vernacular roof, this was a great advancement towards abstraction and a move away from traditional Arts and Crafts and historicism. This project served as a major precedent and inspiration for the modern architecture that would develop in the first half of the 20th century, for instance the early work of Le Corbusier. It had a clarity, simplicity, and logic that foretold of a Neue Sachlichkeit.
Some of Hoffmann"s domestic designs can still be found in production today, such as the Rundes Modell cutlery set that is manufactured by Alessi. Originally produced in silver the range is now produced in high quality stainless steel. Another example of Hoffmann"s strict geometrical lines and the quadratic theme is the iconic Kubus Armchair. Designed in 1910, it was presented at the International Exhibition held in Buenos Aires on the centennial of Argentinean Independence known as May Revolution. Hoffmann"s constant use of squares and cubes earned him the nickname Quadratl-Hoffmann ("Square Hoffmann").

Since 1992 he has been working as a free-lance designer with various design firms. He has worked as a consultant in industrial and environmental design at the Milan Polytechnic and has collaborated with different design magazines.
He has designed for Arflex, Colombo Design, Imetec, LG, Mesa, Molteni & C., Steel, Status, Monrio HI FI, Panasonic Climatizzatori, Toto Design japan, Sica, Luc", Ideal Standard, Cima arredobagno group, and Vitreal specchi.
Among his works the system Biblio for the new library of the Teatro Strehler in Milan in collaboration with Elitable. At present he is a consultant to MDF Italia for the company's image and communication and Vittorio Bonacina for which he designs products and setting-ups.
