German designer Theresa Rand was experimenting with ways of combining a table and storage when she stumbled upon the idea of a lid that opens by rotating it around one of the legs. The result is elegant, unpretentious and utterly addictive (show it to guests and they will be opening and shutting Turning Table for hours). With the help of a simple bolt and screw system, the lid can be opened and reveals a container, which can store things like books, magazines, cookies or whatever is needed in the living room. The custom made Ava Wall Sconce has a black walnut wood backplate, a brass arm and a hand sewn leather shade. The brass arm articulates to fulfill many different lighting needs. It can provide up lighting or down lighting and can move from left to right. The simple bar tightens the joint to keep it in place. The Ava has an on/off knob at the shade, a brown twisted cloth cord and a plug. For use with LED BULB ONLY: LED bulbs not only use less energy but also give off less heat.
