Jaye Fishel (Bullhorn Press) and Rachel Berks (Otherwild) initiated this project after the Bullhorn Press studio moved into the storefront occupied by Otherwild, a hybrid retail store and design studio in Los Angeles specializing in the handmade and design-driven. Fishel has made work using a letterpress since 2006, with the goal of creating affordable art in the tradition of the democratic multiple. Berks collaborates with numerous artists on the design of books and other printed matter. The pair’s shared interests and skills led them to invite Los Angeles-based artists to create print editions on the letterpress. The project aims, in part, to exploit, diversify and expand the art-making possibilities of the letterpress.

In 2018 Joshua Tree community members got together and raised enough money to put up this billboard in response to a transphobic billboard placed by Congressional candidate Tim Donnelly. Donnelly's billboard critiqued military spending for transgender veterans. Neighbors decided that hate has no place in their home and fired back with words of love and encouragement.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The group states “Out here in this desert, we love our neighbors. And we won’t let some politician come through and try to divide us. To our transgender neighbors and visitors, let us be clear: You are valued and you are welcome here.”

Fat and the Moon's Aloe Vera lotion was concocted in the thick of a cold, dry and relentless Brooklyn winter. Though the ingredients are gentle, this lotion showed no remorse to our dry and chapped hands and faces.
This unscented lotion can be used for face and body alike. Aloe hydrates and blocks UV rays while the coconut oil holds in moisture and protects the skin, so it's fantastic for summer bummers like sun burn.** Sunflower oil is rich in Oleic acid and is high in vitamins A, D and E which nourishes dry and damaged skin. Give your skin a super-hydration boost with our gel toner. We created this soothing toner especially for people with dry, maturing or extra-sensitive skin. It has no essential oils, but is packed with hydrosols and healing herbs to balance skin PH and promote skin-cell regeneration. Chamomile Yarrow Gel Face Toner

If you’re looking to add an herbal dimension to your basic first aid kit, let me introduce the Bite & Burn Spray! Mild burns and insect bites can be given a quick spritz to aid in pain and faster recovery of your ow-ified skin. Witch hazel contains tannins which help the skin to tighten and therefore reduce swelling and pain and promote faster healing of broken skin. Witch hazel also acts as a antimicrobial, sending opportunistic bacteria on their way. Fat and the Moon's yarrow hydrosol bring the first aid properties of the plant. Along with being astringent and anti microbial, yarrow aids the skin in healing while minimizing scarring and inflammation. Lavender and tea tree essential oil also act as antimicrobials as well as anti-inflammatories and antiseptics. But let’s not focus on their ‘anti’ side too much, because all of the ingredients in the Bite & Burn Spray are way pro healing. Side note: for all burns, don’t apply any kind of ointment when you are first burned as it will trap in the ‘heat’ and your burn can get more serious. Give a good Bite & Burn spritz to the area and let dry, after a day you can apply ointment to mend your skin.
