A symmetry is created that is calming and classical. "I often explore materials and create collections which are craft based. Twist was created while experimenting with intertwining wires. There is a fluidity and movement to the twists that I love. The twisted wires suggest a coming together of things that I find poetic."

Michael’s fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or “Butterfly Ginkgo”, which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly’s wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael’s work.

The piece is inspired by leaves that would blow into Aram's bedroom window from the ginkgo tree growing curbside outside his New York City apartment. "Seeing the wind rustle through the ginkgo tree made me think of the fluttering wings of butterflies. I see this jewelry as symbolic of change and resilience, qualities so important to our well-being."

"I was having lunch with friends on a veranda overlooking the sea when I looked down to the lawn and saw a fallen palm frond. The leaves were all twisted and curled, yet it stood out magnificently against the otherwise perfect landscape. It made me think of the passage of time, and the bountiful gifts of the Palm tree, which provides everything from food to shelter."

I like to imagine the arms of the cross reaching up to heaven, while the roots are firmly placed on earth. It is a metaphor for male and female, and the balance of spirit and worldliness."

The Plume Collection is inspired by the train of the peacock These majestic birds, with their kaleidoscopic plumes, are often represented in the mythology and folk stories of cultures around the world Known as the bird with 100 eyes, the pulchritude of the peacock is often taken as a symbol of renewal, immortality, or the all-seeing omniscience of God. “The peacock is a powerful totem. The plumes feel infinitely complex, almost surreal, yet somehow still organic and corporal. During monsoon season, in India, peacocks are regular visitors to the gardens outside my home. The plumes never cease to capture my eye, or my soul, feeling at once infinitely complex, yet perfectly natural.”
