About the Maker

Ella Reweti is a Melbourne-based ceramicist working predominantly with slipcasting techniques to create functional, sculptural pieces inspired by industrial architectural forms. A failed academic, Ella put down the books and has been keeping her hands busy with clay for about five years. Largely self-taught, her practice is constantly evolving to encompass new skills and techniques accumulated through the play and experimentation inherent in the making process.

In 1998 Abi & Rupert met at a London design agency. Their shared love of illustration and printmaking made their decision to start a company together easy. They quickly pooled clients, resources and capital to start a clothing label called Rude.As trained graphic designers their passion for print and applied art began with a collection of screen printed t-shirts. This quickly grew into an international street brand and before long the couple were producing fully printed collections and stocking to the best accounts.Around this time Rude opened a flagship store called ‘Let’s make T-shirts’, which housed the collections and offered bespoke screen printing services on site. About the Maker
Asobimasu Clay is the creative child of Kate Brouwer a Melbourne based ceramicist and founder of Feast & Flower Co. Asobimasu means "to play" or "create without boundaries" in Japanese which resonates with Brouwer as she prefers to start by playing without an outcome in mind. A visit to Brouwer's backyard studio is a visual pleasure, with work in progress sitting alongside final pieces and her beautiful floral still-life displays. About the Maker:

We first became aware of Deborah S weeney many years ago when she was a fashion designer in New Zealand having previously worked as a designer for Jill Stuart in NYC and designing for brands such as Topshop and H&M. After a successful and recognised career as a fashion designer, 15 years and two children later,  Deborah took a short sabbatical to spend some time with her youngest before he started school. It was during this time that she discovered ceramics and decided to change pace and direction and establish herself as a ceramicist. Deborah places importance on quality materials and workmanship, buying less and buying well and using natural New Zealand clay.
