Pop Placemat

The PH 3½/2½ Table Lamp is a member of the three-shade family that Poul Henningsen designed in 1925/1926 and is one of 19 versions available today. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. Approximately one thousand different models have been produced over the years and consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as a number of different chandeliers, which were very popular in the 30s for lighting private homes with high ceilings. Henningsen was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and use the logarithmic spiral as a basis, which results in an even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade.

Poul Henningsen's work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source.

Designed by George Nelson in 1952, these elegant fixtures are fashioned from a sturdy, lightweight steel frame yet have a delicate, floating quality.

Nelson was inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish hanging lamps that he wanted to acquire for his office, but he found the price to be prohibitive. An ingenious and resourceful designer, he went on to create the first set of Bubble Lamps using a translucent white plastic spray. Nelson drew from elemental, organic shapes in making variations including sconces, table lamps and floor lamps.

Pendants include a brushed, nickel-plated steel ceiling plate measuring 5.25" and a 6-foot cord. Product is UL-listed and rated for bulbs up to 150 watts. Bulb is not included.

Surprising Low Armchair

The Leonard Chandelier, designed by Søren Rose, is inspired by the New York City glamor of the late 1930s. A part of Menu's Tribeca lighting series, the Leonard was born when Rose traveled across the United States in search of beautiful old lamps. When he returned to his base in New York, he took the pieces apart and reassembled as he saw fit. In this way, the Leonard melds modern aesthetics with the warmth of vintage pieces.

Arms and connection parts are made from solid brass or powder coated steel rod. The socket is painted ceramic. The brass is not lacquered so the metal will darken and patinate over time. Cord measures 196.9". Bulbs not included.

Eero Saarinen vowed to address the “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” he observed underneath chairs and tables -- the so-called "slum of legs." A five-year design investigation led him to the revolutionary Pedestal Collection, introduced in 1958, which was inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. His now-iconic Pedestal table features a cast-aluminum base with abrasion-resistant Rilsan® finish and a solid marble, wood veneer or laminate tabletop. Each piece is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Eero Saarinen’s signature.

Stone masters carefully select marble with the best composition and veining to create tops for marble Saarinen Pedestal Tables. Please rest assured that each one’s unique markings are the very traits that make it a true one of a kind.

Coated marble tops have a transparent, high-polish, polyester coating and satin-coated marble tops have a matte satin polyester coating; both types help protect against stains. The satin finish gives the stone a natural, honed appearance while providing the same protection as coated marbles. Marble tops are .75" thick with a beveled-edge.

MAINTENANCE:
As a natural product the marble tabletops are quite durable and don’t require high maintenance. The Saarinen marble tabletops are sealed with a transparent polyester coating, creating a non-porous surface to prevent use-associated stains. For daily care and maintenance you can wash the surface with lukewarm water; for a more thorough cleaning you can clean with a non-abrasive solution such as Windex or rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth. It is important to note that if you proceed with a white based marble as opposed to the darker marbles (e.g. Nero Marquina) the coating may yellow over time giving the marble a warmer tone.

The Pato Sledge Chair is a carefully crafted multipurpose and stackable chair in eco-friendly polypropylene that can be used outdoors. With the option of seat or full upholstery, the Pato can be tuned from basic to exclusive. For more information about upholstery, see below.

With the Pato series, Fredericia’s legacy of immaculate detailing and craftsmanship meets today’s industrial standard - the multipurpose plastic chair. The human-centred design is the work of Danish-Icelandic design duo Welling / Ludvik. Presented in 2013 after nearly three years of development, Pato sets a new standard for the execution and finish of polypropylene material. The series meets every possible contemporary demand for home, office, and public spaces and is available in upholstered versions for extra comfort and different visual statements.

Pato is produced in environmentally friendly polypropylene and steel. With it’s shell manufactured in Denmark and all other assembly in Denmark as well every chair is fully quality controlled during all stages of the manufacturing process.

The frame is made from quality steel and surface treated with solvent-free powder coating or chrome-plated with Chrome3. The chrome plating complies with lacquer coating standards (DS/EN ISO 1456), thus eliminating any risk of nickel allergy.

At the end of its life cycle, the chair can easily be disassembled for sorting at source. All components are 100% recyclable and can be incorporated into future furniture production.

The chair is tested for durability at the Danish Technological institute and passes at the highest level (Hard use in public spaces). The Pato Shell has a dense content structure that ensures a silky, yet resilient, surface. The bevelled edge ensures that the chair conforms optimally to the user’s body, so that the chair is comfortable even after prolonged usage.

The ribbon-like designs transcend the conventions of style by exploring, as the great modernists did, the essential challenge of deriving form from function.

Constructed of hard white maple veneer strips, laminated 6 to 9 thick with high-bonding urea glue. Thermo-set assembly glue provides structural rigidity without the need for metal connectors. Basketweave Floor Mat

Florence Knoll believed that the quintessential desk facilitated communication. She labored over the relationship between this table top and its legs to achieve a partners' desk typology for effective collaboration. The result was an impressive yet functional 72" wide rectangular desk with two pencil drawers that provide adequate storage for personal devices and accessories.

Precise and ingenious construction of the Florence Knoll Executive Desk includes a frame and legs made of heavy gauge welded steel. The post and four-star legs are finished in polished chrome. Constructed of solid plywood and finished with a veneer face, the table top is available in five finishes. A satin chrome base finish is also available. Please contact us for details.
