An oil free, soap free, good enough to eat dry cleanser. Mix up a small scoop in your hand with a little water and ka blam, you got cleanser! Light as a Featha uses the anti bacterial magic of honey, drawing powers of rhassoul clay and the moisturizing talents of coconut- a truly tremendous trio! You know when a product gets me to indulge in alliteration, it’s gotta be good. Light as a Featha is a mild exfolient. The coconut and clay add just the right amount of grit to polish the skin but does not cross the line into the sandpaper zone, just right for my sensitive skin peoples. My fave way to use this cleanser is to wash my face with it at the beginning of the bath, then let it sit and wash it off at the end of the bath. Makes for a lovely mask! But most of the fat in Fat and the Moon comes from my love of the material- oil is the medium of external herbal medicine. Fat in the form of oil, is the gift of the seed. Fat, both in plants and animals, is where energy is stored. The richness we taste in food, and the suppleness we feel on our skin after a good slather of bath oil, is our bodies recognition of and pleasure in that vital energy. Oil from plants, in and of itself, is medicinal. I feel honored as a medicine maker to indulge in the play of fat and herbs, especially under the influence of the moon.

We borrow our name from an old West Frisian word meaning “To Feel”, emphasizing our focus on creating a product that honors the multi-sensory benefits of natural extracts. Made entirely by hand using old world techniques in our Los Angeles studio, our fragrances are enriched with Californian warmth.

We take pride in our production process where our small team in Los Angeles hand blends, compounds, and filters each micro-batch. Every single bottle of Fiele Fragrances is hand filled, capped, and labelled. To lessen the impact of our carbon footprint we only source our recycled boxes and packing material from local vendors.

Fat and the Moon has been mixing and brewing, and testing then mixing some more to finally come up with a simple, mineral based deep creamy eye coal! Since traveling to India and rocking that smokey eye and bindi adorned look of my dreams, I’ve been searching for an equivalent product not loaded with sketch ingredients. My painting teacher in India used to use the charcoal made from burned Puja and Ghee to apply to his eyes and his daughters. I loved his simple approach. | BLACK | Because the Eye Coal is in pot form, the color can be rich and dense, something one sacrifices when eyeliner is in a stick and needs more wax to keep its shape. The sunflower oil base sinks into your skin, letting the pigment ‘dry’ in place. Sunflower oil is one of my faves, light and smooth but rich at the same time. The beeswax gives the Eye Coal shape and staying power- and of course bee magic. The mineral oxide is the pigment and is not only beautiful but safe for the bod! My goth sisters out there can even use it for lipstick while they rock out to Type O Negative (wouldn’t suggest anything I haven’t tried myself!). | EARTH | Lovers of the classic brown, we gotchu! Welcome- Earth Eye Coal when you goin’ for natural and neutral. Dab a bit of Earth Eye Coal near the edge of the top lash and bam- you got some subtle impact. Earth is a chocolatey, rich soil brown. Wear like the Earth God/dess you are.

| LAPIS | Remember rocking blue mascara real, real hard? I sure do. The thing I loved most about blue mascara was the subtle yet electric effect that gave a natural look a little surprise. In wearing the black Eye Coal on the regular, I found myself missing that deep ultramarine look that takes sultry up a couple notches to hot dang. So guys....you know me right? I want something so I make it, then I love it, then I set it free. Lapis Eye Coal was thusly born. Having the utramarine color in pot eyeliner form allows more diversity in application- line to smudge. That deep blue pop can be acheived by applying a little Lapis Eye Coal on the inside of your bottom eye lid with a super duper clean finger or make up brush. For more drama- and you know we all like a little drama sometimes- line those come hither eyes on up, applying face powder or white clay as a base for the Eye Coal to hang on to. Channel yourself a little Sea or Sky God or Goddess! You know they are in there, wanting to come out! Btw’s Lapis is a gorgeous, precious blue stone that Cleopatra used to get ground into her own version of Eye Coal. Apply with a makeup brush for more defined Cleopatra looks. A tip dear friends! When applying the Eye Coal with a make up brush first apply a bit of face powder or cosmetic clay to your eye lid starting at the base of your lashes. The Clay/ powder will give the Eye Coal something to sink into and will keep your liner on sharper and longer. For that mysterious smokey appeal, apply with a squeaky clean finger on the inner rim of your bottom eye lid then close your eyes together hard to get the coal on the top inner lid and smudge the way you like.

|| ABOUT LILA RICE ||

Lila Rice Marshall is a designer and metalsmith based in New York City. Lila’s work is inspired by both the natural environment and the human realm of engineering, hardware, and mechanism, and she strives to create pieces that embody the beauty of both when they intersect. The conversation between nature and civilization is everywhere in Lila’s jewelry: “There is something so lovely and so true and universal about the compulsion we have to carve something out of nature, to make some entity by hand from what the earth has to offer. JUNGMAVEN WAS BORN OUT OF ACTIVISM. As a student at Central Washington University, Robert Jungmann camped in the Pacific Northwest woods and saw firsthand the damage caused by clear cutting. In the classroom, he learned that industrial hemp could combat deforestation.
Trees, cut to make paper and other products, take decades to grow back. Hemp regenerates in months, helps maintain clean water and air, anchors and aerates the soil, produces oxygen, and consumes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

From that awareness, Rob asked himself, how could he bring hemp to everybody?It had to be simple and personal, something that everyone needs – a tee.

Bathing Culture was launched in April 2017 in the cliffside caves of Sutro Baths. About 80 radical bathers packed the subterranean cavern. An artist collective projected liquid light onto the rock walls à la Plato's Allegory and friends played psychedelic rock.

We gathered everyone for a toast, ringing bells Spencer had brought back from the Himalayas. The waves of the Pacific crashed and echoed in the silence. It was a profound moment.

Seconds later someone shouted “COPS!” we cut power to the generators plunging the scene into darkness.  Someone else yelled, "get the soap!"

We’ve been up and running ever since!

You could say crafting is in my blood, because my family has done so for many generations. Weather it was growing our own food, tending farmland, natural healing, spiritual awareness, or building houses; my ancestors have done it all. I am Cassandra, owner of BFree Organics, born and raised in Los Angeles. BODY USES

Face | 2-3 drops on wet hands, applied to wet face

Body | One small squirt on a wet washcloth, applied to a wet body

Hair | ½ tbsp. in your hand, worked into wet hair, or dilute ½ Tbsp. in ½ a cup of water and work that into wet hair

Bath | Completely depends upon water amount, but roughly 2 Tbsp. soap in an average sized tub. (Doesn’t bubble, but still cleans)

Shaving | Face – 10 drops; Underarms – 3 drops; Legs – ½ tsp; Work to a lather in wet hands and then apply to area.

Teeth | 1 drop on a toothbrush. (Yes, it tastes like soap.)

Foot Bath | 1½ tsp. in a small tub of hot water.

Clearing Congestion | 1 tbsp. in a bowl of steamy hot water. Breathe in mist with a towel draped over the head.

HOUSEHOLD USES

Dishes (handwashing) | Pre-dilute 1:10 with water. Squirt on a scrub brush and scrub dishes.

Laundry | 1/3—1/2 c. of soap for a large load in a normal washer. Add ½ c. vinegar to the rinse cycle. Use half of these amounts for HE

Mopping | ½ c. of soap in 3 gallons of hot water

All-purpose cleaning: ¼ c. soap in a quart of water in a spray bottle. Add ¼ tsp. tea tree essential oil if desired.

Windows | 1 tbsp. soap in a quart of water in a spray bottle. Follow up with pure club soda, or half vinegar/ half water. Toilet | Predilute 1:4 with water in a squirt bottle. Add ¼ tsp. tea tree oil. Empty toilet, squirt bowl thoroughly, sprinkle baking soda on the brush, scrub bowl, let sit 10 minutes, turn water on, flush.

OTHER USES

Fruit and Veggie Rinse | 1 dash (approx.. ¼ tsp.) in a bowl of water. Dunk produce and swish. Then rinse in clear water.

Dog washing | Amount varies widely depending on size, hair type and length, and overall dirtiness. I wet my dog thoroughly, then start to work in castile soap up and down their body until I have a good lather. Really massage it in down to the skin. Your dog will thank you for it.

Plant spray for bugs | 1 Tbsp. in a quart of water. Add ½ tsp. cayenne pepper or cinnamon, if desired.

Ant spray (not on plants) | ¼ c. tea tree soap in a quart of water. (This concentration will burn plants.)

Body Wash & Shower Gel

Enzymes from green papaya and matcha green tea powder are the darlings of this mask. But they are supported by the detoxing and cleansing power of French green and rhassoul clay and the balancing and healing properties of yarrow and geranium.
Green papaya fruit enzymes and botanicals help brighten dull skin to reveal a balanced and nourished glow.
How to Use : Use 1-2 times per week. Mix 1 tsp of powder with approximately 1 tsp of water or hydrosol, adding more if needed to achieve a smooth, batter-like texture. Spread on your face for 5-10 minutes before removing with warm water and a washcloth. Follow with toning mist and moisturizer. Note: redness is normal due to increased blood flow, and will dissipate in about 30 minutes.

MATCHA GREEN TEA | Potent antioxidant properties make it incredibly helpful in reducing inflammation and evening skin tone. The antioxidants may also be helpful for reducing acne and increasing skin elasticity.
GREEN PAPAYA | Contains papain, a proteolytic enzyme, that gently digests the protein bonds that link dead skin cells to the surface of new skin. Using fruit enzymes results in a gentle exfoliation that leaves the skin smooth and supple.
YARROW | Used for centuries for healing wounds. Its main constituents, flavonoids and salicylic acid, work as a tonic and stimulant to soften and soothe the skin. It is a natural astringent that shrinks the skin and promotes skin healing
GERANIUM ESSENTIAL OIL | Helps balance sebum production, treat acne, reduce inflammation, alleviate anxiety, and balance hormones.
FRENCH GREEN CLAY | E normous absorbent powers due to the constitution of its micro molecules. It literally “drinks” oils, toxic substances, and impurities from your skin. Its toning action stimulates the skin. French Green clay is great for helping to clear occasional skin blemishes. Green clay owes its coloration to two very important factors: iron oxide and decomposed plant matter.
RHASSOUL CLAY | N ourishes the skin with its high silica, magnesium, and sodium content while also encouraging skin regeneration through gentle exfoliation, reducing and balancing sebum production, and tightening pores. It even has the ability to increase the elasticity of the skin, even skin tone, reduce skin dryness, and helps clear up blackheads and blemishes.

Urb Apothecary || Matcha Enzyme Mask

Nopal cactus pad powder, herbal powders, and sodium bicarbonate deliver a face appropriate polish that gently exfoliates without harsh edges. This exfoliating balm removes dead skin cells and increases blood flow, encouraging the growth of new cells. Jojoba and camellia seed oil, paired with jasmine sambac floral wax seal in moisture and help maintain a healthy glow.

How to Use :
Scoop out about a quarter-sized amount with a spoon (this helps reduce bacteria being introduced to the polish) and rub over a wet face in small circular motions. Leave on for about 5 minutes as a mask. Rinse and pat dry.

CACTUS POWDER | P ulp from the nopal cactus pads that have been used by many cultures as a dressing for burns, cuts, and wounds to promote healing. Raw Nopal Cactus is very rich in vitamins A, C, and K and also magnesium, potassium, and manganese.
LEMON PEEL POWDER | Anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties which work well in treating acne and oily skin. They also have a skin lightening agent which helps to remove dark spots, scars, and blemishes. Lemon peel contains citric and plant acids that work to cleanse, lighten and brighten the skin; remove dead skin, and stimulate new skin growth.
HORSETAIL POWDER | A stringent herb, helping tighten the skin and pores. Studies have shown that its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant agents and silica may give it the ability to heal wounds, rashes, burns, skin lesions, and acne. Silica is known to help form collagen which is important for the development and the maintenance of healthy connective tissues throughout the body. Therefore, Horsetail extract is widely used in anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, and other cosmetic products. Horsetail tea, its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity may delay the aging process by strengthening the connective tissues and may help relieve the inflamed and irritated skin.
