Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, born in Barcelona, Spain, is a writer and creative director in constant search of new concepts for children’s books and the author of the multimillion-copy best-selling Little People, BIG DREAMS series of picture books that explore the lives of outstanding people. Working for more than fifteen years for clients in top advertising agencies, her books combine creativity with learning, aiming to establish a new and fresh relationship between children and pop culture. ​
 
Melissa Lee Johnson is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated with a BFA in Integrated Studio Arts and a Minor in Illustration from The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in May 2016, and was a finalist for a Mary Nohl Fellowship in 2017. She got her start illustrating for an alternative newspaper, and then created the 2018 Film Fest campaign for Milwaukee Film. Melissa has since worked on editorial, packaging, branding, advertising, and book illustration for a variety of clients, including Amazon, Macmillan Publishing, Parents Magazine, Hacienda Beer Co., Red Antler, and Three-Headed Design. She watered the plants on her stoop and waved to us, pointed at the neon eye in the window. Luciano Lozano studied an MA in Illustration at EINA, Barcelona in 2007 and he has lived there ever since. He collaborates regularly with newspapers and magazines, and he has illustrated many books for publishers all around the world. The Protea plant, also fondly referred to as Sugarbushes, are native to South Africa. They are believed to have been named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon in Greek Mythology. Proteus could change his shape at will, and the Protea plant has over 1,400 different varieties.
It is because of this that the protea flower symbolizes change and transformation, and in the language of flowers, it also means diversity and courage.
Interpreted into a beautiful keepsake enamel pin, it features dark green leaves, rose pink floral outer petals, or bracts and a blush pink center.
