Lanterns in all sizes and colors have always played a significant role in Asian cultures from China and Vietnam to Japan and Thailand. Apart from lighting up in the dark they symbolize the hope for a bright future. The award-winning Hong Kong based design duo Lim+Lu has in collaboration with Lucie Kaas explored the idea of interpreting the traditional lantern. The result is Moonbeam made from ribbed, frosted, white glass and steel. It’s not childhood memories alone that make the traditional lantern such a cherished object to the Chinese design duo established by Elaine Lu and Vincent Lim. The built-in flexibility of the lantern has also fascinated the two designers. "Traditionally, lanterns were carried at night to illuminate one's path. Upon arriving at their destination, the lanterns would be set on a surface or hung up to provide lighting for the space. That flexibility was important for us to integrate in the Moonbeam collection," says Vincent Lim. "In collaboration with Lucie Kaas we have taken an Asian icon and reinterpreted it, so it fits the aesthetics of Scandinavian design characterized by simple a minimalistic expression combined with functionality. To us it's important that design both compliments and challenges the users. Design must provoke an emotional response. Design is made for people, it should trigger the senses," says Elaine Lu.

The Leaf shelf is an effort to create a shelving system striking an ultimate balance between aesthetics, stability and packability. It is characterized by a very pure aesthetic, the aim being that the leg pillars are the center of attention. Little Bird is a range of irresistible decorative figures designed by designer Jan Christian Delfs. The simple, but expressive, design represents a well-balanced mix of purity, abstraction, minimalism and, not least, cuteness. The birds are turned in wood with the fine and characteristic beak as the sole detail. The six different sizes in the range each represent a particular character in the designer's own family, where tiny design related variations give the birds personality. The Ocean Collection is a reimagined table-and-chair collection (originally designed in 1955) in ocean waste plastic, combining innovative solutions to prevent pollution of the world’s oceans - with one of the 20th century’s most renowned designers, Nanna Ditzel. The series is characterized by its light structure with repeated slats and metal frames, made and tested for outdoor use. The ocean waste plastic and recycled plastic (PP) honours the UN Sustainable Development Goals of protecting “Life Below Water" (SDGs 14) and “Responsible Consumption and Production" (SDGs 12) and "Partnership for the Goals" (SDGs 17). The Ocean Collection is designed for disassembly, meaning that the design allows each component in its purest form to recycle into new production circles. One Ocean Chair uses 960g of ocean plastic waste.

Designer Thomas Alkin on Hang On: “As I've been visiting PP Møbler, I often got fascinated by the many wonderful pieces of waste wood that naturally appears in the creation of PP Møbler's collection. There were pieces in ash, maple, oak, beech, walnut and cherry as well as various other wood types, which I didn't immediately recognize. Each piece was like a colour sample: Both individually beautiful, but also exciting in a mix of many different, where colour and grain look good in combinations. These pieces of waste wood fascinated me. They were far too good to burn but too small to be part of a chair or a table. So I went home wondering if I could figure out a good product that would make use of them.” Eventually Alken designed this simple and practical hanger consisting of two basic parts: A rail and a hanger, where the hangers are produced in all possible wood types depending on the current activity in the workshop. The two parts are easily assembled without the use of glue or tools, so it is possible to make your very own combination of wood types. Pegs can be organized in any combination as listed in the options.

To mark Poul Henningsen's 120th birthday on 9 September, Louis Poulsen is launching the new PH 3½-3 pendant. The PH 3½-3 pendant is based on Poul Henningsen's original drawings from the late1920s and early 1930s, featuring his renowned three-shade system. The pendant has metal shades, available in green, yellow, red and white. The fixture housing is silk mat brown and made of copper. All colors are based on Poul Henningsen's color universe. Like the designer, the fixtures are colorful! As an extra feature, all shades have a white painted rolled edge, accentuating the familiar profile of the three-shade fixture and creating beautiful optical symmetry. The shades are pressed at Louis Poulsen's factory in Vejen, by Louis Poulsen's own staff – a craft only very few are trained in. Although the fixture is over 80 years old, it is both modern and classic at the same time, making it ideally suited to a broad range of interior design environments. It is seen as a charming, rustic, functional and unpretentious fixture. The PH 3½-3 pendant is a piece of Danish lighting design history. It provides functional, decorative light, and gives any interior a boost simply by being there, whether lit or unlit. It is beautiful alone, or grouped with other fixtures.

With its circular shape, Loop is a subtle and modern tray with an arching wire handle. The curved handle makes it easy to move Loop to and from the table. When the handle is folded flat, Loop is easy to store or hang on the wall. Loop trays can be used as a permanent kitchen setting, an elegant tapas plate or for bread and cheese on Sunday mornings. The Loop trays are available in two sizes with either a black or white handle. Loop is made of untreated oak wood. Untreated wood is a natural food safe product, which eventually will take colour from use. The metal handle can be removed when cleaning with a damp cloth. One of GUBI's most innovative products, the GUBI Chair, is designed by Boris Berlin and Poul Christiansen of Komplot Design. The GUBI Chair is the first furniture design to be based on the innovative technique of moulding three-dimensional veneer. The 3D design gives the chair a comfortable seat and sense of lightness – with all edges pointing away from the user. Due to this ground breaking technology, the thickness of the veneer is allowed to be reduced to half than normally used. The GUBI chair was designed in 2003 and has won several prestigious design awards and is included in the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

The designer's Italian flair for lightness and elegance is united with the trademark quality and precision of the Swiss company Vitra.
The clean lines and geometric forms of the generously dimensioned sofa elements create a spacious platform for sitting or reclining. Despite its expansive proportions, Grand Sofa has a graceful silhouette: the slim, fabric-covered body is doubly angled to form a cascading seat, backrest and rearward ledge. The body is supported at two points under each end of the seat surface and behind the backrest by a bridge-like aluminium base frame, making the sofa appear to float above the floor. The seating elements are open on the sides, which emphasises the horizontal planes of Grand Sofa. Consumers can choose between a full-length backrest or a shortened version. This makes it possible to produce large seating arrangements with gaps and viewpoints a sofa landscape with an almost topographical character, conveying an expression of lightness and variability.

Sild Tray functions as a cutting board and serving board at the same time. The composition of small wooden sticks in teak forms an elegant herringbone pattern, emphasized by the many nuances and grains in the wood. ‘Sild' means herring in Danish, which explains the name. Sild Tray is designed with a small notch all the way along the edge, making it easier to lift up and put down.

The Series 7 designed by Arne Jacobsen is by far the most sold chair in the history of Fritz Hansen and perhaps also in furniture history. The pressure moulded veneer chair is a further development of the classic Ant chair. The four-legged stackable chair represents the culmination of the lamination technique. Conceived during the design process for Menu's new creative destination Menu Space located in Copenhagen's thriving Nordhavn (Northern Harbour) area, the Harbour Chair is the result of fulfilling a variety of needs (among others) comfortable versatility. Designed specifically for Menu Space, the dining chair is ideal for anything from restaurants, conferences, offices, or in the comfort of one's own home.
A hybrid space that mixes office, showroom, cafe, co-working and event space in One, Menu Space required a chair that could suit a range of purposes. L’Oiseau by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec is a decorative wooden figure which has been milled from natural maple and sanded smooth. The Coat Dots are small, colorful wooden balls that attach to the wall, creating cheerful accents in kitchens and bathrooms, as well as in entrance areas and cloak rooms. They can be grouped in free arrangements or in linear rows of three or more balls to make an attractive wall sculpture. When the need arises, the Coat Dots can be used to hang things on: each ball is mounted on an extendable aluminum pin that can be pulled slightly away from the wall, thus providing a handy hook for coats, jackets or hangers. The Grand Prix by Arne Jacobsen was introduced by Fritz Hansen at the Spring Exhibition of the Danish Museum of Decorative Art in 1957. Later that year, the chair was displayed at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix - the finest distinction of the exhibition. After which the chair has always been called the Grand Prix Chair. Originally, the Grand Prix chair was introduced with a wooden and steel base and was in production for a number of years. It was put into production again in 1991, this time only with the wooden base, but taken out again 4 years later.
