The collaboration took shape as the friendship between Anna Sheffield (Bing Bang Founder) and Jo Rosenthal was forming, tenderly and with fury, in the magical way instant lifelong NYC friendships crystalize.

The two were having breakfast over waffles (a shared favorite) and decided that they should collaborate on a nameplate. Jo, an artist and fashion world luminary, immediately landed on the word 'tender' which Anna thought was perfect for someone who's drawn every person they ever kissed. A few more steps in the design process, and the tender necklace was born.
