Gerrit Rietveld designed his last chair for the store of jeweler Steltman at the age of 75. With this design, he again proved his status as a pioneering designer. The chair owes its name to The Hague's jeweler and purveyor, Steltman, who commissioned Rietveld in 1963 for the renovation and furnishing of his store on Noordeinde in The Hague.
The two mirrored chairs, arranged in front of a showcase with jewels, immediately caught the imagination. From these chairs, customers could select their jewelry and wedding rings. In this context, the chairs also acquired a symbolic meaning: two separate, opposite forms that together form a unity. The asymmetrical chair, which produces a surprising image from every angle, is completely made up of lines and surfaces. The Steltman is typical of Rietveld's design ideas and has since become a true design classic! The original Steltman Chairs were covered with white artificial leather. However, the wooden version that was only built after Rietveld's death in 1964 is now better known than the original with the artificial leather cover. The Steltman Chair is built on the basis of the original drawing by Rietveld from 1963. The design is available in a solid oak version and an upholstered variant in fabric or leather. The wooden version is made of solid quarters of sawn oak, matt lacquered or stained in whitewash or black. Various colors can be selected for the fabric or leather variant.

Pierre Chareau designed this table lamp in 1926 in France.  The design is recognized as a revolutionary achievement for the time.
As early as 1900 Chareau began his artistic career as a student of the famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he focused on architecture and design. By the 1920's he was already known in the design world for his complex structures and innovative use of architectural space. Pierre Chareau began to explore an interest in Cubist space by the mid-1920s and soon after his designs became highly sculptural. He is known for his use of combining materials such as lightly hammered steel, unpolished metals, and rich mahogany.

The Banana Bentwood Chair is constructed by one of the first bentwood chair factories set up by Michael Thonet in the 1800s.  This bentwood furniture factory has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1861.  It is now just one of three original bentwood factories still in operation.

The Rene Herbst Cord Chair, also known as the Sandows Chair, is just one example of the pioneering use of industrial material for which Rene Herbst was famous. For this chair, Herbst used elastic cords (we know them now as "bungee cords") that at that time were used to wrap parcels. It was first released to the public at the Paris Salon d'Automne des Artistes Decorateurs in 1929. Rene Herbst founded the company Etablissements Rene Herbst in an effort to produce and sell his projects.

The Split Bentwood Stool was designed by Arik Levy in 2014. The Split Bentwood Stool is part of a complete series that includes an armchair, lounge chair, side chairs, and tables.  The series is based on the Czech's expert ability to bend beechwood, a craft they have been carrying out for over 150 years.  In this design, Levy uses a contemporary shell and legs to form the chair.  The stool uses split bentwood at the point where the legs meet the seat, giving the stool an extremely unique high design appeal.
