Hand woven in Myanmar by Mr Merz.
The rarest and most exclusive of the Mr. Merz collection, the Burma Blanket depicts the daily life of Chin Tribal women in northern Myanmar. Used as ceremonial blankets, these pieces look wonderful across a bed or on the back of a couch.
Taking three months to make, each piece is handwoven on a wooden loom and then hand embroidered. The weaver determines the story–meaning no two are a like. A maximum of 15 pieces are produced each month.

Vintage wooden face sculpture by Jim Pruitt (1948 – 2011) sourced by Alchemy Works.
Illinois-native Jim Pruitt studied history and philosophy at LSU before beginning to sculpt in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His skills as a master carpenter are employed throughout this works as a self-taught artist, carving wood and stone by hand — no power tools.
In 1986 he moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he worked at the Blue Star Art Space. In his later years he carved large-scale wood pieces, exhibiting in numerous shows across Texas and Louisiana, but rarely offering his works for sale.
Pruitt died at the age of 63 in San Antonio in 2011.

The unassuming and elegantly designed hardcover publication explodes once opened with 100 found black-and-white and color photographs that have been manually altered by scissors or pen or physically attacked in a fit of rage.
Some deletions, such as a missing face in the shape of a heart or oval, were clearly intended for a locket. Others, however, contain angrily scratched-out heads and bodies or are simply torn in half. A third group feature manipulations more mysterious in nature: strange cut-outs that hint at a mix of emotions and motives.
Together the photographs suggest a wide range of human drama, from affection to anger and much in between. The Brussels-based collectors sprawling collection of found portraits runs the gamut from sexy snaps of men in jockstraps to all-American family portraits, a portion of which is currently on view in Brussels.
