Our Partare Bogolan Tote is made of hand woven, hand printed cotton mud cloth (locally called bogolan, or bogolanfini). Mud cloth is made using age-old West African methods of fermenting local plants and minerals as pigments. We source ours from villages in Mali, where it is a symbol of nation identity.
