Sleek and beautiful, these lounge chairs by Peter Hvidt were designed with supreme comfort in mind. They feature an exquisitely sculpted oak frame, high backrest and thick padded seat. Newly re-upholstered in grey flannel.
Danish designer Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) was trained as an architect and as cabinetmaker at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. He exhibited regularly at the Cabinetmaker's Guild exhibitions, as a designer and as an exhibition architect. He also taught at the School of Arts and Crafts from 1942-1945. Hvidt worked at various design firms before setting up his own studio. In 1944 he opened Hvidt & Molgaard studio which he ran with Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen until 1975. They produced furniture that was primarily traditional but often manipulated the standards of furniture design in a subtle way.
