Eero Saarinen vowed to address the “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” he observed underneath chairs and tables -- the so-called "slum of legs." A five-year design investigation led him to the revolutionary Pedestal Collection, introduced in 1958, which was inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. His now-iconic Pedestal table features a cast-aluminum base with abrasion-resistant Rilsan® finish and a solid Vetro Bianco granite top.

All-weather hardware and outdoor-appropriate materials ready the classic Saarinen table for a life outside, delivering an elegant focal point to any outdoor setting. Each piece is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Eero Saarinen’s signature.

Vetro Bianco is a polished, bright white surface that is non porous and more compact than most granites (imagery not available for Vetro Bianco top/Black base combination). Comprise of 93% fused quartz. It does no yellow or stain and is scratch-resistant.

An indoor version is also available in one oval and two round sizes in a 20" height with option of marble, wood or laminate table top.
