Belleville is the name of the vibrant Paris neighborhood where the designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have their studio. Visual references for the Belleville Chair's design can be found in the classic French bistro furnishings and lively atmosphere of this Parisian quarter.

The Belleville is a technically sophisticated plastic chair consisting of two components—a structural frame and a seat shell. Tracing the calligraphic lines of the legs and back, the slender back frame supports a thin shell that tapers from the wide seat surface into a narrow backrest. Available in colored polypropylene, molded plywood veneer or with a cover in leather or fabric, the perception of the Belleville Chair is transformed from a plastic chair to a wooden chair to an upholstered chair—and of course an armchair with forward slanting armrests.

The Belleville Armchair is available in a black frame with seat/back color options of Deep Black, Cream, Basalt, Sea Blue and Moss Grey. The online configuration features felt glides to protect hard floors, however hard glides for carpet are also available upon request. The chair is made from injection-molded polyamide and is stackable up to 6 chairs. The plastic versions are also suitable for outdoor use.
