Meet the Dazey Lady: Tia

Hey Cutie! I'm Tia. I'm an Asian American and Queer artist and maker from Northern California, though I've been lucky to call many cities across the U.S. my home. I started Okay Okay Company on a whim during the pandemic to turn my experimental craft-making into what I hoped would be a functioning small business. Always restless in my enthusiasm, polymer clay jewelry came to me as another of many dabbles into a new craft medium (I also sometimes do photography, bookmaking, quilting, ceramics, and screenprinting). Soon, however, I fell in love with the medium. The balance of hands-on making and everyday functionality felt so refreshing and exciting to me! Having just graduated with a BA in fine art photography, I was pretty burnt out by the pressure of the "art" world and the lack of physicality inherent in photography. Instead, I wanted to make things that were fun and that didn't take themselves so seriously. When I realized that I could create wearable art that was accessible and uplifting to anyone who wanted in, there was no turning back. Soon this sentiment became my motto and Okay Okay Company was born!
