The Railcar Bed by Croft House is handmade locally in Los Angeles, California. The sophisticated, modern form of the bed is merged beautifully with the rustic, reclaimed wood beams, creating an easy elegance. The headboard, side rails, and footboard are each comprised of an individual, reclaimed Douglas Fir board, salvaged locally here in Southern California from various buildings. While the seamless faces of the large boards provide the bed with an impressive sense of scale, the thin profile and careful use of negative space under and around the piece provide an airy refinement. The reclaimed wood boards are finished with a natural wax, which sinks into the old growth grain and enhances the color to a warm, red brown. The wide beam sideboards create excess surface area for bedside items, allowing you to forgo traditional nightstands and limit the clutter in your space.

Reclaimed wood has a wide range of color and texture due to weathering. The wood is up cycled from various sources so no two pieces are alike. As a result, cracks, nail holes and uneven surface textures are to be expected.
