on may 2nd, 2020, we released two rigid jeans sewn from the first premium selvage denim to be manufactured in the United States since 2017. now, for the second installment in our partnership with Vidalia Mills, we're back with a killer new selvage wash.
sewn from an amazing 3x1 fabric with a washed-down orange selvage id, which was loomed on the same Draper X3 shuttle looms that were restored from the legendary Cone Mills.

HOW WE MEASURE

first off, grab a pair of your favorite jeans a measuring tape, and find a flat surface to measure on. lay your jeans out flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove all slack. note: double each measurement (except inseam and rise) to correspond with the chart below.
waist : the width of the waistband, from left edge to right edge.
front rise : the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front of waistband, above the button.
thigh : starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg.
leg opening : the circumference of the opening at the bottom hem.
inseam : following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of hem.

A classic and durable staple, the chino is roughly 180 years old and was designed for military purposes. Millions of pieces have been produced, used but also discarded for no other reason than the desire to buy a newer pair.
Taking inspiration from the era of the birth of the chino, we've reimagined these pieces with travel in mind. An added a front cargo pocket offers a place for safekeeping a map (or smartphone), a reconstructed fit with the addition of a gusset for flexibility and mobility, and a signature A&R Fun Strip in leftover military camouflage along the right outer seam to stand out (or blend in). Offered in a mix of flat-front and pleated, in various khaki tones. All pieces in this style are between 28" and 30" in length.

A water-resistant woven shell with 40 gram Primaloft ® Gold insulation makes up the front, back, and hood of the Drive Jacket, adding weather protection and warmth to make it a true three-season piece. The interior of the Drive Jacket’s hood is lined with a gorgeous cotton-cashmere blend we selected because it feels amazing and warm against the head. The same sweater quality makes up the Drive’s sleeves, providing superior range of motion. The Drive’s clean aesthetic is topped off by rib knit at the sleeve cuffs and inset body hem and a piping detail along the back yoke and hand-pocket openings. The center-front and hand pockets have a zipper closure, as does the interior patch pocket. Like all AETHER products, the versatility of the Drive Jacket provides the protection you require without sacrificing the modern aesthetic we pride ourselves on.
