Taking Japanese minimalism and running with it, we created the Aberfoyle Pendant, which exudes simple sophistication. Made of brass that has been treated to a satin black finish, the interior of the darkly handsome fixture is slathered with a gold leaf finish that brings the glow emanating from it added warmth. We’ve affixed it to a stem instead of a chain to make certain we didn’t interrupt the luminary’s understated appeal. The gold fitting connecting the stem to the canopy is a lovely touch worth noting. We love the classic industrial look of the Titan Pendant. Designer Peter Bowles used an actual mold from the 1940's that produced these lamps for offices and factories at the time, but then he updated it for a more modern setting. We think it's an ideal choice for a kitchen, dining room, or workspace, since it is mostly downward lighting. The lamp is UL listed and suitable for commercial spaces. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George Nelson's frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. The Collar Pendant, designed by the German designer Sebastian Herkner, is a series of pendant lights where special attention has been paid on its details. The pendant is made of mouth-blown glass and crafted in line with old traditional techniques that gives every lamp its unique and iconic look. Its strong character is achieved by the combination of the softly rounded glass, with a mattee surface, and a steel "collar", used as a reflector, that together perfectly diffuses a warm light that sets just the right lighting atmosphere.
The lamp looks great as a single feature alone over a table, but by mixing colors and large and small Collar Pendants, it gives possibilities for strong personal and playful installations.
